That night, just as I fell asleep, his assistant called me: “Miss Banks, Mr. Carter is digging up the madam’s grave. Please come and stop him.”
I laughed. I was the one Ryan Carter married, yet everyone called Emma White the madam and me Miss Banks.
Since I decided to divorce him and stood him up, Ryan Carter publicly declared on social media: Emma was the only wife in his life. After that, I became the joke of Brooklyn.
Ismirked, my neck still faintly aching. “His matters, go to the Carter family. Don’t tell me; it’s none of my business.” I hung up immediately.
I didn’t expect Ryan Carter would do something as outrageous as grave robbing.
Since he got together with Emma, we discussed divorce more times than meals. But we never succeeded, either I disagreed, or he was called
away by Emma for various reasons.
The last time was two months ago when Ryan Carter was willing to give me half of his assets for a divorce. Lagreed.
But the day before finalizing the divorce, I found out I was pregnant and bailed on him. That day Ryan Carter blew up my phone, and Emma left. Old Mr. Carter knew and personally talked to him all night.
Ryan Carter could ignore anyone’s words, but he absolutely respected and obeyed Old Mr. Carter. The next day, Ryan Carter withdrew all the people he sent out and never searched for Emma like before.
We haven’t spoken a word since, and neither mentioned divorce again. I thought then, even if he didn’t care about me, he at least cared about the child
Now I see, trying to use a child to tie a man down was the most pathetic thing I did. The next day I wont for the abortion. I wasn’t that noble and didn’t want to be a single mom. I might not be loved, but my child must be born into a complete family.
The procedure was quick, and I was home by the afternoon. Now without the child, divorce was just a matter of paperwork.
Ryan Carter hasn’t appeared once during this time, but that’s expected. He’s searching the world for his little mistress. He refuses to believe Emma White is really dead.
