Chapter 1
“What are you doing?!”
Seeing the two disheveled figures on the bed, I trembled with rage.
My wolf, Ember, stirred angrily beneath my skin, a low growl rumbling in my chest.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think Alpha Joseph would betray me like this.
The two on the bed were equally shocked by my.sudden appearance.
Alpha Joseph–my husband, my mate- scrambled to cover himself and the equally disheveled Omega Amanda.
“Ahhh!!!” Amanda screeched, yanking the

blanket over her head like it could hide her shame.
For a moment, I just stood there, trembling with fury, my claws extending as my wolf fought to take over. Ember wanted blood.
Alpha Joseph recovered first, Caught red–handed, he showed no guilt, Instead, he had the audacity to scold me without even a blush of shame.“What are you doing here?!”
He barked like I was the intruder. “Go home, Britney! You’re embarrassing yourself–and me!”
His words left me stunned, my eyes widening in disbelief.
My voice cracked, my claws digging into the wooden doorframe. “I’m embarrassing you?!”

He’s cheating, and I’m the one embarrassing him?
What kind of twisted logic is this?!
Fury surged through me, and I felt my blood boil as I lost control of my emotions.
“Yes!” he snapped, puffing out his chest like he was still the Alpha in control of this situation. “How dare you question your Alpha? You should-”
I didn’t let him finish. Grabbing the nearest pillow, I hurled it at his face.
“You’re cheating!” I shouted, my voice shaking with rage and heartbreak. “And with Omega Amanda, no less! How could you do this to me, Alpha Joseph?! How could you treat me like this?!”

Alpha Joseph ducked as I reached for a second pillow. “Luna Britney, you’ve lost your damn mind!” he yelled, stumbling around the bed like a cornered prey.
“Ahhh! Stop it!” Omega Amanda shrieked, clutching the blanket like her life depended on it.
I didn’t stop. I swung again, this time aiming for his smug, infuriating face. “You’re a lying, conniving, unworthy excuse for an Alpha!”
Finally, he snapped. His eyes darkened, his wolf’s presence flickering in their depths.
“Enough!” he roared, using an Alpha tone with me. shoving me back with a rough hand. I stumbled, but Ember snarled, helping me steady myself.
As I glared up at him, he pointed at me,

his finger shaking with anger. ” Amanda is
your sister. Her mate is a cripple who can’t have a pup. What’s wrong with me lending a hand and giving her a pup? Why are you so petty?!”
Hearing his words, I stared at him in shock, unable to believe what I was hearing.
“Alpha Joseph, are you joking, what are you even saying?! You’re cheating, betraying our mate bond.and now you’re calling it some kind of noble act?!”
To my disbelief, Alpha Joseph shamelessly continued spinning his lies without a hint of guilt.
“I’m doing a good deed! A cripple like Alpha Leonard can’t even provide for her and give her a puppy. It’s practically my duty as Alpha to ensure the number of puppies!”

“A duty?” I echoed, my voice rising. My claws itched to rake across his smug face. “You’re calling cheating on your mate–with your uncle’s fiancée–a duty?”
Omega Amanda decided now was a good time to chime in. “Exactly, Luna Britney.” she said, her tone syrupy and condescending. “It’s just an Alpha thing. Sharing isn’t that big a deal. You’re acting like he betrayed the whole pack.”
“We’re sisters, after all. How could you bear to see me stuck with that cripple Alpha, living a life of emptiness and loneliness?!”
“And let’s not forget, it’s Alpha Joseph doing all the work. If he doesn’t mind, why should you?!”
Alpha Joseph nodded in agreement,

puffing out his chest as if his actions were something to be proud of.
Looking at him, standing there so full of himself, I felt a wave of nausea roll through me. It was as if he truly believed his immoral, despicable deeds were some kind of virtuous act of charity.
“Alpha Joseph, have you forgotten? Alpha Leonard is your own uncle! Omega Amanda is your soon–to–be aunt by marriage! What you’re doing is incest, plain and simple. How can you stoop so low?!”
Instead of shame, Alpha Joseph’s smugness only grew.
Omega Amanda rolled her eyes. “Alpha Leonard’s dying anyway. He can’t even shift anymore. Joseph’s just… filling in the gaps.”

I looked between them, my stomach churning. The sheer absurdity of their justifications made me wonder if I’d fallen into some twisted parallel universe.
“But when Alpha Leonard isn’t dead?” I said through gritted teeth.
Alpha Joseph shrugged, his smirk returning. “So what?! He’s just a cripple now! Does someone like him even deserve to hold onto the Blue Rock Pack? My mom says his health will only keep declining. When the time comes, I’ll take everything–both the Blue Rock Pack and Omega Amanda!”
I stared at him; his smug, self–satisfied demeanor only deepened the disbelief etched across my face.
How had he become like this?

The Alpha Joseph I used to know was
gentle, refined–not this shameless, vile man standing before me.
Had time truly changed him so completely?
Or had everything we once shared been nothing but my own illusion?
