Chapter 2
Omega Amanda brazenly hooked her arm around Alpha Joseph’s in front of me, her face glowing with adoration.
“Oh, Alpha Joseph,” she simpered. “You’re so handsome, so commanding. Even though we’re not mates, I’ve been captivated by your brilliance for so long. How could I resist falling for you? You’re my knight in shining armor!”
My wolf, Ember, growled deep in my mind.
“Knight in shining armor? More like a mutt in stolen alpha robes.”
As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, and she turned to me with a pitiful look.

“Luna Britney, I beg you,” she said, clasping her hands like she was on some werewolf soap opera. “Let us be together. Even if it means sharing him with you, I’m willing to serve Alpha Joseph alongside you.”
I blinked, stunned. Is this real life?
“Please, just give me this chance” she continued, her voice quivering. “I love Alpha Joseph–truly, I do! Even if the whole pack rejects us, I’ll boldly defy society’s prejudices and stay by his side. Just let me have this!”
Alpha Joseph, the genius that he was, looked utterly moved. He took her hand and placed it dramatically over his heart.
“Amanda, your love is the purest thing I’ve ever known,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “You’re the only one who truly understands me. To hold your hand and

grow old together–that’s my promise to you.”
I rolled my eyes so hard I thought I’d see the back of my skull.
“Alpha Joseph,” Amanda sniffled, tears streaming down her face. “Even if I have no title, even if I spend my life as your secret lover in the shadows, I’m willing!”
My wolf Ember’s growls turned into outright snarls. “Let me out,” she snapped. “I’ll claw the smugness right off their faces.”
Alpha Joseph turned to me, his tender expression instantly hardening into one of disdain. He squared his shoulders, puffing out his chest like he thought he was some kind of hero.
“Luna Britney,” he declared, his voice dripping

with condescension.“now you have two choices. Either you accept Omega Amanda joining us, and we live in harmony, or we divorce, and you step aside for her.”
I stared at him, dumbfounded.
“Giving you the option to stay,” he continued, “You better think this through. Giving you the right to choose is me being as generous as I can be. You’ll never have all of me. If it weren’t for Amanda’s understanding nature and her willingness to accommodate you, I’d have kicked you out already!”
He raised his chin arrogantly, looking down at me as if he were doing me a favor.
As if offering me two choices was some monumental act of kindness.
As if I should fall to my knees, overwhelmed

with gratitude, pleading with him not to walk away.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Omega Amanda’s face–smug, full of triumph and provocation.
How had I never noticed before? She had all the makings of a classic villainess.
Looking at the two of them gloating in front of me, I couldn’t hold back anymore. With swift determination, I got up from the floor and walked over to them.
A smile curved on my lips.
“I choose…”
Both of them stared at me intently, eagerly awaiting my humiliating decision.

With their expectant eyes fixed on me, I suddenly raised my hand.
“SLAP”
Omega Amanda’s head snapped to the side, her cheek turning a bright, satisfying red.
“SLAP”
Alpha Joseph stumbled, clutching his face in shock.
Without giving them a chance to recover, I grabbed fistfuls of their hair, yanking so hard I was sure I’d pulled out hundreds of strands. Tears streamed down their faces from the pain.
“Choose? Do you really think you’re my savior or something?!”

“Two lowlifes, complete trash, mistaking disgust for true love? Screw you! I’m done playing your stupid game!”
The two of them struggled desperately in my grasp.
Alpha Joseph, of course, started hurling
curses.
“You crazy bitch! I’m divorcing you! Let go of me! My hair! I swear I’ll make you pay for this!”
Lucky for me, I used to be the strongest female warrior in THE Crystal Blood Pack. Handling these two weaklings was child’s play.
Before he could respond, I raised my foot and delivered a well–aimed kick to his groin.

“AHHH!”
Alpha Joseph crumpled to the ground, clutching his groin in agony.
He knelt there, his face contorted with pain.
One hand shielded his injured pride, while the other pointed shakily at me.
“You–you–you! Luna Britney! You’re insane! A madwoman! An absolute shrew!”
“I’ll divorce you! I swear I’ll divorce you!”
“I, Alpha Joseph Cantrell, reject you, Britney Howell, as my mate!”
