Chapter 6
She looked at me with a face full of ingratiation.
“Britney, this situation is really Omega Amanda’s fault…”
“Mom! It’s not my fault! It’s just that she couldn’t win Alpha Joseph’s affection. Even if it wasn’t me, she wouldn’t have kept his heart. And anyway, We’re true mates, true love! The unloved one is the mistress, and we-”
Omega Amanda tried to argue but was immediately pulled back by My stepmother Roxanne, who, after a reluctant glare, fell silent.
My stepmother Roxanne continued to play

the weak card.
“Luna Britney, don’t blame Omega Amanda. Over the years, it’s me and your father who spoiled her. She’s my first child, and the precious one your father had later in life. She’s always been pampered. Unlike you, who went abroad, became independent, and capable. We can’t compare Omega Amanda to you.”
I narrowed my eyes, sneering inwardly.
My stepmother Roxanne’s words, though seemingly flattering me, were in fact a veiled warning.
Three years ago, she had my father send me abroad, neglecting me. Three years later, she could easily do the same again.
But unfortunately for her, I’m no longer the

naive girl I was three years ago.
I said nothing, only looked at her with a mocking expression.
She went on.
“We’ve understood the situation, and since you and Alpha Joseph have no feelings left, why not just divorce? Let them be together; it’s better than watching you and Alpha Joseph grow resentful of each other.”
My father nodded in agreement.
“Back then, you and Alpha Joseph were arranged by me, and you were always unhappy about it. Now, let’s just call it a mistake. At least now we’re getting things back on track.”
“Heh!”

I couldn’t help but laugh at their audacity.
What does “getting back on track” mean?
At the time, Alpha Joseph and Alpha Leonard -one was useless, with nothing but the title of the Blue Rock Pack‘ young master, while the other had all the power, holding the reins of the Blue Rock Pack.
That’s why they wanted Omega Amanda to marry Alpha Leonard and live the life of luxury.
And me? I was carelessly sold off to Alpha Joseph.
Had it not been for Alpha Leonard’s unexpected rogues attack that left him. “crippled,” their plans would have gone forward smoothly. How could we have ended

up here?
Alpha Leonard became the discarded card, and the once useless Alpha Joseph had a chance to seize power, become the Alpha king, so they started setting their sights on me again.
No matter the time, to them, I was always the one they could easily sacrifice.
But I was no longer that little girl begging for love.
“Why should I?!”
I casually fiddled with my nails, tossing the question back at them.
“What do you mean by that?!”
Omega Amanda angrily demanded an

explanation.
“Alpha Joseph said he doesn’t love you anymore! You’ve dissolved your mate bond! Are you seriously shameless enough to cling to him, Britney? How disgusting can you be?”
I shot her a side–eyed, scornful glance.
“Who’s clinging to whom?” I asked, my voice calm but sharp. “Does it even matter? All that matters is this: Alpha Joseph and I are legally married. I’ve never cheated, never dishonored him. Dissolving our mate bond doesn’t change that. Until I agree to end this marriage, the Werewolf Council will never recognize your place by his side.”
“Let’s wait and see!”
“You–!“Omega Amanda’s fury boiled over, and she lunged at me, her claws bared.

“Britney, you slut! You’re doing this on purpose!”
My stepmother Roxanne quickly stepped in to stop her.
her expression shifted, her eyes narrowing as she fixed her glare on me.
“What do you want?” she demanded, her patience clearly wearing thin.
I smiled, finally hearing the question I had been waiting for.
“I want the Alpha position of the Crystal Blood Pack,” I said evenly, “and every piece of inheritance my mother left behind.”
“That’s impossible!” my father snapped, his voice trembling with indignation.

Of course, he would refuse.
The Crystal Blood Pack had been my mother’s legacy, built with her blood, sweat, and tears. After her death, my father had inherited it by marriage, riding on her coattails and indulging in the luxuries she left behind.
Without her, he would have been nothing more than a rogue scraping by in the
shadows.
