At that moment, I could not find the words to explain anything. My heart was heavy with despair and the will to defend myself had completely faded.
In the blink of an eye, several security guards dragged me to the spot where my fate would be sealed, right next to my mother–in–law’s grave.
This grave was carefully chosen by Owen himself and lay nestled at the edge of a peaceful, tree–shaded area atop the mountain.
Owen said that his mother cherished her peace when she was alive. There were only a few tombs here and the location was secluded, far from the bustle of the main road. This would be the perfect resting place for her.

indifferent to the situation. Owen was standing to the side while giving me a cold glance. And then, a cruel laugh escaped his lips as he kicked me down harshly so that I sprawled onto the ground in front of the tombstone.
“Kneel to Mom and apologize! Apologize for what you did to her!”
“Owen Miller, you will regret this!”
I knew I would not have the chance to survive if I fell into Owen’s hands this time, so there was nothing more to say. I just stared at him bitterly, craning my neck.
Owen stared back with bloodshot eyes as he grabbed a handful of my hair, pulling me painfully toward the ground.
The next second, my head hit the hard ground with a sickening thud and blood quickly began to drip from my head. As I lay there, Owen knelt in front of the tombstone. His cries echoed around us.
“Mom! Did you see this? I made this

murderer kneel to you to apologize for what she did to you!”
“Rest in peace, Mom. Rest peacefully.

Soon after, Bianca’s voice cut through the air, reminding him. “Owen, it’s already noon. We should bury your mother as soon as possible without wasting any more time.”
He nodded, but his eyes never left me. His cold gaze was burning with hatred like the cold eyes of a predator. Then, in a swift movement, he kicked me toward the open
grave.
“Once I make you apologize, you’ll join my mother down there. Bianca, come help me. Let’s finish this.”
As Owen’s words hung in the air, he picked up the shovel and began to dig. Soon, heavy shovelfuls of soil began to fall onto my body. The dirt covered me quickly, piling on top of me.

hesitation, refusing to take action.
“Owen… this is murder. You will go to jail!”
“She killed my mother! What do you think I should do? Asking for her consent to be buried with my mother? Don’t pretend you’re afraid. Back then, you said you wanted me to kill Lily so I can marry you! You wanted me to do it, so don’t even think about backing out now!”
My heart thudded heavily in my chest as I lay there. I had never expected that I would hear such a dark secret right before I died.
“You were the one who said that! After five years of marriage, Lily could not give you a child. So, your mother hated her for being infertile! You two said it would be better to

Owen sneered.
“It’s too late for that! Do you think letting her go now will change anything? You’re involved now, just as much as I am. If you don’t tell anyone and I don’t tell anyone, who’s going to know she’s buried here? Do you really think you can escape this?”
“No, no! I can’t do this. Just bury her yourself and I’ll pretend I didn’t see anything!”
With that said, Bianca turned around to run away, but the raging Owen picked up the shovel in his hand and chased after her.
“Damn it! Get back here! Don‘ t even think
about running! If you say a word, I’ll bury
you too!”
“Aaah! Owen, you’re insane! Let me go! I won’t say anything, I promise! I regret everything. I want out of this!”

law’s tombstone. Taking advantage of the distraction, I twisted my body with every ounce of strength I had, moving the rope around my wrists to the sharp edge of the shovel Owen had left in the grave, sliding it hard back and forth.
Soon, the rope began to fray and loosen until I could finally break free. Quickly, I untied the rope on my ankles and prepared myself to escape. Just as I was about to stand up, I saw Owen jump back down into the grave with a cold expression.
