Austin tried to nudge me toward starting my chemotherapy, but I wasn’t ready–not yet. They also asked me to go to
counseling, but I wasn’t ready to pour my feelings out
The only thing that could help me calm my anger down was by taking my revenge for what Ace did to me.
I couldn’t focus on anything else, even ny treatment while Ace and Elena were happily celebrating themselves.
They had taken everything from me. Eight years of my youth, my efforts, my love, and my child.

During the investigation, we found. Elena’s boyfriend – Brian.
“We’ve got his social media,” Asher said. “We just need to contact him. Brian needs to know what she did too, right? After all, he’s waiting for Elena to go back.”
I stared at Brian’s profile, scrolling through old photos of him and Elena. They looked so happy, and innocent. So much so that everyone would think they were the perfect couple if they didn’t know what Elena did.
For a second, I felt bad for Brian. He was the same as me. While he was waiting for Elena to go back again, she didn’t care.
“Let’s do it,” I said quietly, my voice steady despite the storm raging within me.

could betray him so cruelly. But when we showed him the evidence, he agreed to
meet us.
“This can’t be true,” he muttered, shaking his head as he scrolled through the proof on Asher‘ s tablet. “She wouldn’t do this to me.” His voice cracked, and I saw the pain flicker across his face.
“She already did,” I said softly but firmly. “I know how hard it is to accept because I had gone through the same. Five years of our marriage wasn’t enough to stop them getting together.”
Brian’s hands clenched into fists, his jaw tightening. After a long silence, he nodded. “I still don’t want to believe it. But, I can’t deny…”
“Would you like to know if she truly betrayed you or not?”
After a small pause, Brian nodded.
That’s when we came up with the plan –
a public confrontation at the company.

The next morning, Brian and I arrived outside her office.
My heart was pounding, but I stayed some steps behind him, letting him take the lead. I watched as he walked inside with a calm determination.
Elena was at her desk, and I saw the surprise flicker across her face when Brian approached her. “Brian?” she said, her voice laced with panic. “What are you doing here? No… How could you be here? Shouldn’t you be in New York?”
Brian laughed, his tone casual but sharp.
“What, can’t I come see my girlfriend? I missed you so much that I booked a flight from New York to here.”
She glanced around nervously, noticing her coworkers starting to watch the scene unfold. “It’s not that,” she said quickly, her voice low. “But this isn’t the place. Let’s talk later, okay? Tonight.”

continued chatting and with no other choice, she stood up, and said in a loud voice, for everyone to hear.
“Why did you follow me here? PLEASE LEAVE! We’re already over, and don’t harrass me!”
The room fell silent, and I saw the shift in people’s faces.
“Harrasment? No wonder… I don’t get why people can be so low sometimes.”
“How did the security let this psycho in?”
However, they had no idea we already came prepared.
“It’s over?” Brian repeated, his voice icy, darkened by the weight of realization. “Funny. You didn’t say that last night.”
Elena’s lips parted, but no words came
out.
I smirked, and stepped forward, my arms crossed against one another.

“Stop harrassing her. I don’t understand why you are so obsessive. She already broke up with you. And, why would we believe you? She must be telling the truth.” I said, sarcastically. “After all, everyone of us know here that Elena, and our CEO is going out, right? Or, there is a special relationship between them, right?”
I looked at Elena, smiling. “Didn’t you say it yourself that you liked the CEO?”
“What the heck are you saying, Ashley?” she asked, her face turning pale.
Brian laughed, and opened his phone.
“What do you have to say, Elena? This is what you messaged me last night. ‘Love you, babe.‘ Do you want me to read the full message?”
The crowd gasped, seeing the texts
between them. Some coworkers confirmed
that it was truly her account.
Elena couldn’t defend herself anymore, no
matter how much she tried.

flirty messages between him and Elena. “I didn’t believe it until now. But, you’re just a cheater, bitch! I waited for you to come back to New York, only to find that you’ve been cheating on me here.”
“Brian, stop!” Elena shrieked, her voice rising with desperation.
But it was too late. The damage was done.
The whispers spread around us, the judgemental stares and condemnations.
It was satisfying to see her smug look disappeared. She had ruined my reputation with her gossips, now, it was time for her to pay back.
Brian laughed, and put his phone down. “Thank God, I could see through your pretense. I wouldn’t want such a woman like you ever in my life.”
Brian turned towards me and nodded, as if showing me his gratitude.

I yanked my arm free, refusing to budge. “Whatever you have to say, say it here. This is the last time we’d be talking.”
His jaw clenched, his composure starting to crack. Leaning in close, he whispered angrily, “Tell me the truth. Did you abort our baby?”
I let out a bitter laugh.
Did he even care about that? Did he really care about me, and the baby? If so, why didn’t he ever apologise? Instead he had always clung to Elena’s side.
