Chapter 26 It’s Your Honor to Be Here
Xunder made a smooth exit while Hazel casually tossed the invite into her drawer.
Hazel, what the heck is this about? I had something important yesterday and stepped out for a bit. How could you put out a company notice?” Bianca was fuming, her anger growing with every word.
She thought yesterday’s issue was no big deal, especially after they spent millions. But when she got to the office this morning, everyone was whispering and pointing at her.
When she opened her laptop, she nearly lost it.
Anyway, she was the executive director. How could she be publicly marked as AWOL in a company notice?
“As a leader, you should set an example,” Hazel said coolly.
Blanca was seething. “You did the same thing! Didn’t you go shopping during work hours? Shouldn’t your name be on that notice too?”
Hazel drummed her fingers on the desk, unfazed. “Have you forgotten this company is mine?” she said with a smile. “I come and go as I please. No one can control me
Her confidence was infuriating, and Blasen was about to lose it but had no comeback.
“If you can’t handle living under my rules, you can leave,” Hazel said coldly.
Bianca knew Hazel was trying to push her out. But she wasn’t going to let that happen. “Fine, I was wrong for leaving yesterday. It won’t happen again.”
Hazel raised an eyebroir, surprised Bianca admitted her mistake.
She gave a few more indifferent reprimands before letting her go.
Back at her desk, Bianca was still fuming, She clenched her fists, trying to calm down before calling Lark.
“Perfect timing. I was just about to ask if that witch is going to Nash’s birthday party tomorrow, Lark said.
Bianca knew she meant Havel. “My dad didn’t mention bringing her. You know he cares about reputation the most,” she said, trying to find some comfort in the thought that Hazel’s bad rep would keep her away. “The York family parties are top–tier. One slip–up and you won’t be invited. The Galaxy Group isn’t that big, so I don’t think she’ll be there,” she added with a hint of glee
“Better if she doesn’t go.” Lark sighed in relief. “I was worried she’d show up flaunting that $5 million dress from yesterday,”
She had to admit, if Hazel wore that dress to the party, she’d outshine everyone, making all the high–society Indies look dull.
│Don’t worry, without an invite, she can’t get in. That dress was just for showing off in front of us. You don’t need to see her as a rival,“ Bianca reassured her,
Lark nodded, feeling better,
She secretly vowed to be the star of the party and outshine everyone.
On the day of the party, Phoenix City was buzzing. All the major media were covering Nash’s 70th birthday bash
That night, the private venue was lit up, and the place was packed,
Everyone was decked out in fancy dresses and suits, looking like they just stepped off a movie set.
A long red carpet stretched out at the entrance, more glamorous than any awards show.
Cameras were flashing non–stop, reporters trying to cutchery bit of gossip and excitement.
The banquet hall was jam–packed.
All the big shots of Phoenix City were there.
Bianco was all smiles, looking elegant in her dress, following Aiden.
The creme de la creme of Phoenix City’s high society were all present.

Bianca eagerly followed Aiden and Cleo into the hall.
The York family’s party wasn’t something just any rich family could attend
Even the kids of big shot families needed their parents to get in.
Being here today was a big deal, a real status symbol.
“Blanca!” Lark called out from across the room
“Dad, I’m gonna go say hi to a friend.” Blanca said, turning away.
“Go ahead,” Alden replied, “Just remember, today’s guests are all very important, so don’t do anything reckless,” he reminded her as she walked off,
Cleo smiled, pleased with Bianca’s behavior. “Don’t worry, she’s very graceful and appropriate.”
Blanca happily made her way over to Lack. “Erik,”
Erik was surrounded by other high–status guys. He gave her a faint smile but kept it cool.
Since he and Hazel hadn’t officially broken up, Bianca was still th
the secret lover, exchanging glances from afar.
“Erik, I heard you met George from the York family!” one of the trust fund kids piped up,
“Yeah, I did,” Erik replied.
“Wow, that’s impressive.” The kid looked awestruck. “Mr. York isn’t someone just anyone can meet. Last time, I brought a ton of gifts to visit him but got left outside.”
“He’s always so mysterious. No one really knows what he looks like, another kad added, “But I’d say he’s no match for Erik, he’s the real deal, one of the top guys in Phoenix City.”
They were all buttering Erik up, putting him on a pedestal.
“When you see Mr. York later, you gotta introduce us. My dad’s been on my case to make connections with him,” the trust fund kid said.
Erik felt a bit awkward. Last time, he had humbled himself to visit George but only saw his silhouette from afar without exchanging a word.
But with all his friends watching, he couldn’t back down. “Sure, as long as Mr. York is free tonight, I don’t think meeting him will be a problem.”
“Deal”
promiser
was thrilled, and Bianca stood by, listening to Erik’s conversations, feeling proud.
Everyone was
Among these trust fund kids, Erik was definitely the top dog.
As Bianca silently congratulated herself on her good judgment, everyone’s attention shifted to the entrance.
Bianca turned her head too, and her smile froze.
How could Hazel walk in? She was wearing that stunning diamond–studded dress, her natural elegance instantly drawing everyone’s eyes
