Chapter 43 Who’s Throwing a Tantrum
Ronan let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness George was going to be okay, and Hazel was starting to calm down.
They stepped into the fancy VIP room.
George was lying there, looking pretty rough, probably in a lot of pain, but he wasn’t saying a word.
hired surgeons and Hazel was all ears as the doctor went over the care instructions. After the doctor left, there were still a bunch of people around, like
Hazel didn’t care about any of that. She went straight to George’s side, looking at his still–handsome but now pale face. She asked softly, “How are you feeling? Does it hurt a lot?”
George’s eyes flickered. He slowly opened them and met her gaze,
“Yeah, it hurts,” he admitted.
“If you knew it would hurt, why did you risk your life for me? What if something had happened to you?” Hazel’s voice trembled a bit. The thought of losing George scated her. She wouldn’t have been able to handle it.
“Because,” George said quietly, if it hit you, it would hurt me more.
It wasn’t the cheesiest line ever, but coming from George, it hit Hazel right in the feels.
She couldn’t deny it; she was moved. She took a deep breath and lowered her voice. “Do you treat everyone this well?”
“Only you,” George replied.
“So, you think I’m special?” Hazel asked.
George raised an eyebrow, sensing something more in her words.
“Why did you suddenly show up? Hazel changed the subject before George could answer. It was his business, and she didn’t want to pry.
“Isaac told me you went to the factory, I was worried something might happen to you, so I went to check.” George’s voice was still soft. “Luckily, I got there
In time.”
Otherwise, it would be Hazel lying
ing in that bed, and he couldn’t bear the thought.
The idea of her getting hurt made George’s eyes flash cold.
“This was all my father’s doing,” Hazel said, not hiding anything “He doesn’t want me to take over the company, so he’s trying to push me out, making things
hard for me.”
-Do
you need my help?” George asked.
“I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to get involved,” Hazel said honestly.
She was smart enough to understand George’s intentions completely.
“You got hurt because of this, and I will make sure those responsible pay. I won’t let them off easy. A cold determination flashed in Hazel’s eyes.
She’d had enough of the Astor family’s nonsense. She hadn’t planned on striking back so soon.
Even though they’d hurt her before, she thought they shared the same last name, so she tried to avoid more conflict. But they just kept pushing,
For those bastards, she wouldn’t show any merry.
tit. George agreed.
de respected Hazel’s decision. As long as he could, he’d make sure she was safe.
Just then, Hazels phone rang. She walked to the balcony and answered, “Xander.”
- Autor, the police have wrapped up their questioning. The guy who hit you was Yves Cooper, and he was the mastermind. He’s been detained. The police want to know if we want to settle privately or go the legal route,” Xander reported.

“Tell the police we’re going all the way with this, And tell that guy see you in court,” Hazel said firmly
“Got it.” Xander nodded.
After hanging up. Harel frowned. Her stomach was killing her. She hadn’t eaten all day, so no wonder she felt like crap
She took a deep breath and headed back to the room, seeing George sitting up against the bed.
“Why are y
you up?” she asked, worried.
“If I fall asleep, you’ll leave, won’t you?” George replied, a bit off–topic.
Hazel nodded. She had planned to leave, partly to grab some food and partly to handle the mess.
“Go to sleep. I wont leave.” She felt a pang of guilt looking at George, who got hurt because of her.
Satisfied. George closed his eyes.
But then her phone rang again. Hazel panicked, realizing she forgot to silence it. She didn’t want to wake him.
Seeing Aiden’s name on the screen, she smirked.
No doubt he was calling to make prace and settle things quietly, but Hazel wasn’t having 15
No way was she letting the Astor family off the hook. So she just turned off her phone,
“Ms. Astor,” Ronan approached quietly, lowering his voice
“What?” Hazel asked, puzzled.
I brought some food. Please eat something.” Ronan said,
Hazel was taken aback.
“Mr. York asked me to get it for you, Ronan added.
Hazel instinctively glanced at George, who had his eyes closed. Did he notice her stomach issues?
But how?
She had only made small movements on the balcony earlier, which George shouldn’t have noticed. A strange feeling welled up inside her.
But it was the wrong time to meet the right person. She and George had nothing in common.
Besides, it was hard for her to trust anyone fully again. Even if she was moved, sincerity was tough.
ly as amuring as George felt out of reach.
And a guy
She got up and ate some food, feeling much better,
Lately, Hazel had been swamped with work, barely resting. After eating, she felt sleepy.
When she opened her eyes, it was already evening. And there was a blanket on her.
George said, “Awake already?”
Hearing his low, sexy voice, Hazel was startled. She almost forgot she was still in the hospital
Seeing her genuine reaction, George found it adorable…
But Harel was embarrassed, her face turning red. She tried to play it cool, slowly standing up. Looking at the clock, she realized she had slept for almost four
She was supposed to take care of George but ended up sleeping better than him.
Do you need to go to the bathroom? Hazel asked casually, trying to ease her embarrassment, but immediately regretted it. I mean…”
Yes George said decisively. “Is it inconvenient?” He looked innocent.
