Cassius’s tone was calm, but his gaze was cold and dangerous.
It was clear: refusal wasn’t an option.
Gemma knew she was under their thumb and couldn’t resist.
But she wasn’t about to let herself be treated like some disposable tool.
“Is this person a friend of Mr. Raven’s?
Cassius said nothing.
That silence was answer enough
Gemma understood. This hospital served the frontline battlefield, but the medical staff here came from all sorts of backgrounds. It was hard to say who controlled whom.
If this person was Cassius’s friend, they needed someone they trusted to guarantee his safety.

She took a deep breath and headed to the emergency room.

The doctors were shocked, their faces quickly shifting to panic.
Cassius’s expression was cold. “She’s the attending doctor. You’ll assist her.”
“No, she’s too young! This is just a scam. Mr. Raven, don’t be fooled.”

The doctor immediately lowered his head.
Gemma had already reached the bedside, reviewing the various test results.
“I want to try acupuncture, and after that, I’ll apply electric current to each needle.
She looked at Cassius seriously. “I’m fifty percent sure it’ll work.”

They quickly tried to dissuade Cassius. “Mr. Raven, please think carefully.”
Cassius asked again. “How sure are you?”
The doctors fell silent.
They were all secretly wondering if it was time to give up on the treatment.
After a pause, Cassius spoke.
“Ms. Kelestine, go ahead and treat him.”
Without hesitation, Gemma took out her acupuncture kit.
In front of everyone’s eyes, she inserted the needles into the patient’s chest.
Some people closed their eyes, thinking this woman would be the first to accompany Smith to the grave.
Others secretly rejoiced.
They’d been hoping for a way to get rid of Smith, and now someone else was taking the blame for them. They could keep their own lives intact–this was a good deal.
Before long, Gemma finished the acupuncture and began the electrical stimulation,

Gemma announced wearily.
As soon as the words left her mouth, everyone in the room visibly relaxed, the atmosphere lightened considerably.
She turned to the doctor who had questioned her earlier.
“Mr. Raven, this man has serious problems!”
Cassius didn’t even ask why. He simply waved his hand.
The doctor was immediately restrained and taken away.
Gemma bit her lip. Did they really think she was an easy target?
The acupuncture had drained her energy, and she was physically and mentally exhausted. She planned to rest for a bit. But just as she stepped out, Noah ran over and immediately clung to her legs.
“Gemma.
His eyes were full of tears, looking so pitiful.
“I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”
Gemma’s heart softened, and she bent down to pick him up. “How about we go play a game?”
“Okay.”
Noah was very obedient, resting against her like a calm little kitten.
Cassius, watching her fragile figure, surprisingly followed her to the resting area.
Gemma wanted a cup of coffee, but there was none. She settled for milk instead.
After glancing at Noah and Cassius, she ordered two more cups

Cassius glanced down at the milk, took a sip.

Gemma hadn’t really thought about it yet. “Mr. Raven, does this offer have a time limit?”
“You can bring it up any time,” Cassius assured her.
Gemma hesitated.
“Mr. Raven, you’re not just following me because of this issue, are you?”
Cassius nodded calmly.

“So I’ve added an additional clause. You can take a look at the terms.”
Gemma was speechless. No wonder he was so generous when it came to discussing terms earlier.
She hadn’t realized he was waiting for this moment.
But her concern about Noah remained.
“Is it because Noah has a problem?“
