I planned a road trip. But my sister–in–law
overheard me talking about it on the phone with my friend. She flew into a rage and stabbed me
in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
<
After my death, my soul didn’t vanish. I watched
my mom and brother make it look like a suicide,
and they threw my body into an unmarked
grave.
Then they took my money and lived happily ever
after.
I was so angry, but God was watching, and
gave me a second chance!
“Auntie? Are you gonna ignore me?”
Lily shook my arm.
I snapped back to the present. Looking at her innocent face, I yanked her hand away. “Why should I give you my money?”
Lily looked shocked. But before she could
respond, a young woman on the sofa stood up,
pointed at me and yelled:
く
“Sarah, what’s wrong with you? You’re acting
like such a terrible aunt!
“You don’t have kids! If you don’t give the
money to Lily, what are you gonna do, burn it
all? Every good aunt loves their niece, and you
are being so selfish!”
It was my sister–in–law’s younger sister, my niece’s aunt, Emily.
She acted so righteous, I almost forgot how she contributed to my death.
After my sister–in–law stabbed me, I still had enough energy to call 911.
But Emily stomped on my hand and smashed
my phone, leaving me helpless on the floor to bleed to death.
She also took a share of my money.
I glared at her.
“Don’t you have kids either? Can’t you give
your money to Lily? She’s your niece, and every
good aunt loves her niece.”
Emily instinctively answered, “It’s not my kid,
why would I give…”
She realized what she had said and quickly shut
her mouth, glaring at me.
I rolled my eyes.
That woman was so disgusting.
In my last life, Emily loved to come over to my place.
She pretended to be like me, someone who didn’t want to get married, but I found out later
that she secretly loved my brother…
<
I glanced towards the closed door. My sister-
in–law was standing behind the door, listening
- in. A smirk tugged at my lips.
This time, they’ll pay the price!

I didn’t budge on giving my inheritance to Lily.
While we were eating, my sister–in–law, Claire, started to sigh loudly.
“Lily’s school needs another payment for material fees. It’s so expensive, like, five grand, and my paycheck won’t come until later.”
My brother and my mom kept their heads down,
pretending not to hear her.
Claire kept looking at me.
I rolled my eyes and ignored her, eating my
く
Claire repeated herself. “Five thousand bucks…
what are we going to do?”
I continued to eat, relaxed.
Claire finally lost it, grabbing Lily’s arm.
“You little brat! Did you make this up? Five
thousand bucks in material fees? No way! I’m gonna teach you a lesson! Are you lying to
me?!”
Lily was whimpering, “No, Mom! No lying! No lying!”
There were no material fees for 5k, but there was a dress in Claire’s online shopping cart that cost 5K.
Claire smacked Lily across the face, Lily cried out to me for help: “Auntie, help! Help me! I wasn’t lying, I swear!”
<
This was Claire’s usual strategy.
If she wanted something, she’d say at the table that Lily needed it, but that she didn’t have enough money.
If I didn’t offer to pay, she’d start hitting Lily.
I used to feel bad for my niece, so even though
I knew Claire was lying, I would always give her the money.
I wasn’t asking Lily for anything back. But then, when I was being killed by Claire and Emily, Lily just stood there watching.
I was begging her for help. But she just turned away as if she didn’t see anything.
Lily tugged on my sleeve, tears streaming down her face. “Auntie, can you give me five grand? I need to buy my books.”
