Maxwell cast me a quick look, noting my lack of reaction before continuing, “Your mom might adore you, but she can’t spoil you endlessly! Managing the company single–handedly is no small feat for her. You need to cultivate some drive, or how else will you assist her or prove that you’re capable enough to take over one day?”

As the two of them echoed each other’s sentiments, I offered a faint smile and responded calmly, “It’s alright. I’ve already mapped everything out for Milo. I’ll send him abroad for further studies. Once he’s back, he’ll naturally assume leadership of the company. After all, everything I own is meant for Milo.”
At this, the three of them smiled contentedly.
I smiled too–but my reasons were different. They saw me as naive, but I found their assumptions amusingly foolish.
