Chapter 10
Amelia was fuming, her voice dripping with disdain as she hissed, “Unbelievable! Those clueless internet trolls actually laud you as the epitome of innocence and love. To me, you’re more revolting than anyone!”
Milo, his anger still simmering, added, “Wow, you’re quite the actress, aren’t you? You have a daughter with enough fortune to rival nations, yet you choose to live in a rundown house, subsisting on bread daily?”
“Are you seriously willing to endure such a life just to scam two hundred bucks off me for allowance?”
“How can anyone be as fraudulent and repulsive as you?!”

The trio took turns tearing me apart with their venomous barbs.
But before I could muster a response, Charlotte’s expression hardened, her voice cold and resolute as she declared, “You all have some nerve.”
“My mother gave everything for you- decades of her life–yet all you do is repay her with ingratitude, bullying, and slander?”
“Do you think everyone is as despicable and vile as you?!”
Charlotte’s fury was palpable, and Maxwell, too, was incensed. “Grateful? Does she even deserve it?”
“She’s a woman who’s amassed tremendous wealth–what use is it?”

“If she had just handed me all her assets earlier, there’d be no problem!”
Amelia scoffed at me, taunting, “Seraphina, don’t you have any shame? If you’re upset, why not come out with it? Using your illegitimate daughter to captivate Milo and turn this wedding into some petty revenge- what kind of skill is that?”
Milo shot me a venomous glare before turning to Charlotte. “Charlotte, I know you love me, but this time you’ve really overstepped. You’ve upset me.”
“If you renounce Seraphina now and transfer all your assets to me, I might consider forgiving you.”
Milo’s words were not only audacious but also laughable.

More than anything, they left Charlotte speechless with anger.
She glared coolly at Milo and inquired, “You, forgive me?”
“How dare you even suggest that?”
“Don’t think I’m oblivious. You’re marrying me for my assets.”
“I, Charlotte White, am not blind. There’s no way I’d fall for someone as worthless and deceitful as you!”
“Instead of being so conceited, maybe you should worry about saving your Rodriguez family business!”
Charlotte struck the heart of the issue, unflinchingly voicing the truth.

Milo’s face flushed with rage; it was obvious that were it not for Charlotte’s influence and power, he would’ve lashed out violently.
Maxwell, on the other hand, grew tense and, with caution, asked, “Charlotte, what do you mean by that?”
“What do you mean, ‘saving Rodriguez Corp‘?”
Amelia also appeared puzzled. “Exactly! Rodriguez Corp is doing fine–what are you
talking about saving it?”
“Stop jinxing us!” she spat.
Their ignorance and arrogance made me smirk. “You’ll find out soon enough.”
Just as I finished, Milo’s phone erupted with a call from his assistant.

“Mr. Rodriguez, we can’t reach any of our suppliers! Our partners are demanding deliveries, but we have nothing to offer them!”
Milo furrowed his brow and quickly replied, “Then find other channels and procure the goods! Pay whatever it takes. Just secure something fast to avert a crisis!”
The assistant’s voice was fraught with urgency on the line, “We’ve tried, sir, but no one is willing to sell to us! All our supply channels have been taken over by Charlotte’s people!”
