Chapter 8
She nudged Lucas’s arm:
“Look, Rita’s fame is about to rival yours. You worried about that? Hmm?”
She was struggling to pick up the shrimp in the pot with chopsticks, but she failed every time.
And I couldn’t help but laugh.
I picked up the shrimp and placed it in her bowl.
“You’re giving me too much credit.”
“I’m lightyears away from Lucas.”
This wasn’t modesty, though.

After all, Lucas was a well–known genius.
From being an unknown to a legend in just one year,
That year, he won the global design competition, and his works were spread across the media worldwide.
But there were those who believed it was just luck, even some malicious rumors saying he bought the judges to secure the win.
People had plenty to say,
But they were soon proven wrong.
In the following years, he won two more global design competitions,
217
making it three championships in a row, a feat never before matched in history.
This individual has won the highly prestigious fashion competition for three consecutive years, an achievement unmatched by anyone else throughout history.
I personally believe that his accomplishments are something I could never hope to attain in my lifetime.
“Actually, I’ve seen some of your previous works.”
Lucas suddenly spoke up.
I was stunned. “Me?”
He nodded, his admiration completely

My throat tightened.
“I wanted to meet you so badly back then.”

Perhaps it was the early loss of my parents that left me emotionally starved,
So ever since Ethan came into my life,
I had placed all my focus on him.
But as a designer, one has to travel for inspiration, lingering at various fashion shows.
So after Ethan proposed to me,
He asked that I quit my job after marriage and become a stay–at–home wife.
I agreed.
When Professor White found out, he flew to
my city and we had a huge argument.
He believed I shouldn’t give up my talent and career for a man!
But back then, I couldn’t hear him.
I made the decision to walk away from everything.
I thought that after that incident, Professor White would surely be completely
disappointed in me.
But I never imagined…
When he talked about me to others, he still believed I was his most outstanding student.
Lucas spoke sincerely.
“That’s why, when I heard you picked up your
