Chapter 9
Frank’s face flickered with panic, as though he thought I didn’t know anything.
Then he looked at me with guilt in his eyes. “I didn’t know about your car accident. I thought you were just making an excuse to get me to spend time with you. I was working overtime at the company and had to go on a last–minute business trip. I just didn’t have time to explain.”
Ha, even now he’s still trying to lie his way out of it. How could I not know he was so good at deceiving people? Maybe it’s not just him–it’s that I trusted him too much before. Whatever he said, I believed without a second thought.

“I don’t have anything left to say to you. You both should leave, I said, pushing them away.
“Anna, please forgive Frank. It’s all my fault. I was the one who caused the misunderstanding between you two. I’ll leave now. Anyway, I’m all alone, no one cares about me,” Joanna said, and with that, she made a quick exit, running straight towards the busy street.
Seeing her actions, Frank’s face instantly drained of color. He quickly ran after her.

“I chased after her yesterday because I was worried something would happen to her. But when she came back, I finally realized I didn’t love her anymore. I love you now, and I have no romantic feelings for her,” Frank explained urgently.
“Frank, how could you say such heartless words?” Joanna emerged from the side.
“Look at this,” she said, holding up a piece of paper.
“Is this what you call having no feelings?” I mocked.
