Chapter 11
“Anna, Joanna refuses to get rid of the baby. Let her keep it, and we’ll raise it together. We don’t have any children, and you won’t have to endure the hardship of pregnancy or the pain of childbirth. You won’t have to worry about your body changing after giving birth,” Frank said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Hearing this, I felt my perception of him shift once again.
Where had the responsible, considerate man gone? How could he change so quickly?
“What do I need with a child? It’s not mine. Her mother is still around–why should I raise it? If I wanted a child, I could have one of my own. Why would I want someone.

else’s?” I mocked.
“Then let’s have one ourselves. What do you say?”
His suggestion left me both shocked and speechless. How could he have the audacity to say such a thing?
“From the moment you started deceiving me, from the moment you put her first, it was over. What I need is a pure, unblemished marriage. You’ve already tainted ours, and I’d rather not have it at all, I reaffirmed my
stance.
“Anna, don’t be so cruel to me. I’m begging you,” he said, then knelt down before me.
Is kneeling a trend now? Does he think that kneeling can erase everything–the past, all the mistakes?

“Frank, I carried your child for you, and this is how you repay me?” Joanna appeared out of nowhere again, clearly eavesdropping on our conversation.
“You don’t divorce, are you going to let your child be born into disgrace?” Joanna said, her voice dripping with victim–hood.
Then her expression twisted into one of anger and defiance. “In that case, I won’t bring her into this world. If we’re just going to be an eyesore to you, better not come and cause any more trouble.”
She pulled a fruit knife from her bag, aiming it at her neck.
Frank reacted quickly, blocking her, but the knife sliced across his arm.

“Can you at least be rational for once?” Frank shouted, his voice thick with fury.
“Fine, I’ll divorce you. Are you both satisfied now?” Frank’s eyes were bloodshot, tears threatening to spill over.
Watching him sign his name, I felt a sense of satisfaction.
“Now that it’s signed, let’s strike while the iron is hot and get the divorce certificate,” I said coolly.
Joanna didn’t take her eyes off him either.
In the end, he had no choice but to agree. The moment I held the divorce certificate, a wave of relief washed over me. I turned to them and said with genuine sincerity, “I wish you both eternal happiness, a lifetime of love.”

With that, I took small, measured steps and left.
My days became filled with a simple routine -work, of course, but after hours, my life blossomed with new experiences. I began exploring things I had never considered before.
One day, at a hobby group, I met a charming guy named Evan. He was incredibly thoughtful–when I didn’t understand something, he patiently guided me, and when I felt down, he would do everything to cheer me up. Being with him felt easy, carefree.
