Book 4 My Husband Cheated
with My Student
I returned home, filled with joy, witness my husband’s betrayal with my own

The girl curled up in his arms was none other than my student, Chloe.
He reprimanded me with righteous indignation:
“You’re just a hen that can’t lay eggs. Clove says she’ll let you be the godmother to the child, so at least you’ll have a legacy. What else could you possibly be unhappy about?”
What he didn’t know, however, was that I was already two months pregnant.

I could tell the moment I walked into the room.
Hanging in the hallway was a women’s coat that wasn’t mine, and on the table lay a delicate little purse.
I dropped the report I had to submit for the teacher training, which had unexpectedly finished early, along with the results from my pregnancy checkup, onto the table. Then, I numbly walked to the bedroom door, which was ajar.
Though I had braced myself for the worst, seeing Liam lying in bed with a girl on the marriage bed I had carefully arranged still struck like a sharp, searing pain, blood rushing to my head.

Liam stood there shirtless, hastily pulling his pants on, while the girl curled up under the quilt I had chosen, poking her head out. The moment she saw me, her face drained of color, looking fragile and pale.
Perhaps it was the sight of her vulnerability that ignited his protective instinct, because Liam blocked my view and glared at me, annoyed.
Lighting a cigarette, he spoke casually, as if nothing was wrong: “What? Don’t scare her. You’re back already? Didn’t expect you this early. You should’ve let me know.”
Was I supposed to announce my return home?
I couldn’t believe it. My heart felt like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand, leaving me breathless and momentarily speechless.

As if the embarrassment he was feeling was entirely my fault.
Before I could say anything, Chloe reached out and took Liam’s hand, her eyes tinged with red. Her voice was soft and laced with reluctant sorrow. “Liam… maybe I should go first. You can explain things to Mrs. Miller.”

He always took other people’s side without considering right from wrong. Was it
because I was too weak, or did I truly mean so little to him?
“Liam, it’s fine. Don’t blame Mrs. Miller, Chloe whispered, her voice now soft and full of affection. “After all, she’s known for being tough on students. It’s not that she looks down on us.”
She tugged at his hand and buried her face in his chest, her shoulders trembling slightly, her tone dripping with familiarity and desperation.
This seemed to give Liam a newfound confidence. “I think she’s just used to bullying everyone in the department!” His expression darkened, and he turned on me with fresh outrage. “Do you have no ethics at all? Is this how you treat your students? You

dare to bully Clove in front of me, who knows what you’re doing behind her back?”
He stood up and pulled Chloe toward the door. As they passed me, Chloe forcefully shoved my shoulder, knocking me to the floor. My lower back collided sharply with the bedside table.
Liam let out a cold laugh. “Still playing the victim? Let’s see how long you can keep that up. I’ll take Clove home first. We’ve been through this marriage, and I won’t make things hard for you. But tomorrow, you’ll go to her class and apologize in front of everyone. You’ve caused her so much trouble; a simple apology is the least you can do, don’t you think?”
