frowned. “Who told you that?
“Your little sweetheart, of coune” Dolores retorted.
The term sweetheart made Adam’s brows furrow even more. He grabbed Dolores chin, studying her like she was an item. “How have you managed in kunstve bring this dumb
you.” Dolores started, but the waiters arrived with their food the brushed off his hand, maintaining a safe distance between them
Vara had even ondered a fine bottle of wine for the couple. But Dolores didn’t touch her glass, instead eating her medsently, maintaining her quet demeanor
Halfway through, Adam’s phone rang. The phone lay on the table, and its screen lit up, catching Dolores eye. The name “Alison fashed Facing the sumptuous dishes, Dolores lost her appetite suddenly, picking at her food
Adam glanced at the screen before putting down his utensils, taking the call as he leaned back in his chair. “What’s up?”
few seconds later, Adam’s expression darkened visibly. “I know” Then he hung up and stood up. “Alice has a situation. I need to go check on her
Dolores had expected this. Her emotions didn’t shift. Every time Alison called, he left her. She was used to it. Besides, the sight of him annoyed her If he couldn’t let go, why not just divorce and be with Alison openly!
Their talde was by the window, and through the glass, Dolores watched Adam get into his car
“Dolores? A familiar voice sounded above her.
Dolores looked up, sering They in front of her. She was surprised but composed herself quickly. “What a coincidence. Are you here to eat?
Both they weren’t on had terms. Otherwise, Dolores wouldn’t have thought to ask him for help fint. And help was a favor, not an obligation. She wasn’t petty enough to hold a grudge over Thea’s refusal back then.
As for the audio issue, maybe it was a misunderstanding Theo said it wasn’t him, and she chose to believe him.
“This restaurant belongs to a friend of mine, I came to discuss something,” Theo said, noticing the second set of utensils. His gaze swept around. “You and Adam e
Dolores denied it instinctively. “No, with a friend. She just left.”
Subconsciously, Dolores didn’t want people to know she was left alone by her husband in a restaurant.
Theo was silent for a few seconds and didn’t reveal her. “I haven’t eaten either. Mind if I join you?”
With that. The was already sitting down. So Dolores swallowed her words of refusal. “I don’t mind.”
Then Theo called over a waiter, having the untouched dishes reposed and ordering a few more. “These are their signature dishes. Try them” Dolores hud raten enough, but she nodded.
Meanwhile, Adami got into the car and told James “To East Olynde,”
James started the car, glancing at the sky. “Mr. Walcott, isn’t Mrs. Walcot coming with you? The forecast aid there’s a heavy storm tonight. It looks 1/2

“You can come back for her after dropping me off, Adam replied.
Adam pulled out his phone, considering sending a message to Dolores to wait in the restaurant but knowing her temper, she probably wouldn’t. So he took the umbrella and got out of the car.
In the restaurant. Theo noticed Dolores distracted look. He asked casually, “You don’t look well. Something wrong?”
Dolores didn’t think she showed any signs, but hearing Theo’s question, she touched her face reflexively.
Seeing her reaction, Theo smiled gently and ladled a bowl of soup, placing it before her. “Anything you need help with!”
Dolores knew he was being polite. And she hadn’t considered asking Theo for help with the money seriously. 60 million dollars wasn’t a small amount. Given the situation, she propped her chin and joked. “Help? Lend me 60 million dollars, then.”
Theo looked at her, gauging the seriousness in her words. A few seconds later, he asked, “Why not ask Adam? He doesn’t lack that kind of money?
Dolores lowered her gaze, the soft lighting making her look pale. ‘Right, Adam doesn’t lack money, but his money is all for Alison, she thought.
Thinking about it annoyed her, so Dolores dropped the subject and started drinking. Soon, the wine was almost gone. With the alcohol hitting, she didn’t hold back. A self–deprecating smile played on her flushed face.
Theo didn’t stop her. Sometimes, drinking was a way to vent. Dolores noticed Theo’s empty glass and poured him some wine too.
“Cheers!” Dolores raised her glass, a small smile playing on her lips. Any man would be drawn to that smile.
And obviously, Theo was a normal man
Realizing he had lost his focus momentarily. Theo lifted his glass, but a cold voice behind him interrupted. “You dare drink what she poured?”
