Chapter Fifty

“You have no idea who I am girl?” Kyle roared angrily as he jumped to his feet, shaking off the attack with a bit of difficulty. It pissed him off that anyone would think to lay their hands on him, especially the one before him. “I could have you executed just for thinking of striking me.”
I burst out laughing. If he thought the threat would scare me into submission, then he had another thing coming. “Like I give a fuck who you are. 1 am not governed by the rules of your kingdom. After all, I am just a no–good slut who’s only good for breeding a child.”
“Von Silverwayne.The gasped. His eyes widened to the size of saucers as he connected the dots, clearly not having expected that one.
I stared him down. “Leave.”
Kyle didn’t think to listen to the demands. Only to be thrown back by the litany of warning growls, to watch as their interaction was observed. More than fifty men were closing in on the group of people, all of them growling at the man. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know all of them were prepared to rip him to pieces where he stood. Remnant or not, he was a dead man if he made one more move on the woman.
“Kyle.” Simon reprimanded him before he could think to react, having also noticed what was going on. Obviously guessing neither of them would survive when the opposition was stacked against them. “Head back to the car. Now.”

was wise to listen. “You’ll regret this,” he promised
Waiting until the man had done as had been demanded of him, the remaining Remnant focused on them. Simon showed not an ounce of guilt. “Our decision remains the same.”
“You’ll have your fucking heir,” I snarled struggling to hold my emotions in check, beyond pissed at the demands being placed on Kadden. “Now get the fuck out of my kingdom*

Meaning that I either conceived the heir demanded of them by the time of the Gulley Tury or Luke would replace Kadden. Giving me approximately three to four months to conceive the child the Remnant’s wanted.

Kadden had retaken control of his body by the time Simon had stalked off, though no less angry at the situation, Wrapping an arm around the slender waist of the woman, he didn’t even give me time to react. In the next moment, I found myself slung over his shoulder, as he stalked purposefully towards the manor, I was wise to keep from protesting his actions, as he was clearly not in the right state of mind right now.
He went no further than his office on the main floor of the manor when the door was slammed shut. My body was thrown down onto the couch, standed by the sudden movement from the man. Snarling a warning not to move Kadden stormed towards the cabinet, pouring himself a drink. I no more than shifted around to a sitting position, giving him the chance to cool down some. I wasn’t scared of him in this state, aware I was strong enough to take him, I simply hated seeing him so maw.

That’s as far as I got. Kadden suddenly appeared in front of me and I was thrown for a loop when his lips crushed down on mine. It was the first time he’d dared to touch me, aside from simply holding me since I returned. And he’d never instigated the kissing. Overwhelmed at the knowledge of being together, my lips opened to his invasion, and bit off a moan. Driven almost insane by the noise, hands came down to cup my ass and jerked me into his arms.
We both lost ourselves in the moment. As our mouths devoured each other in an almost desperation, he began yanking at my clothes. Taking my cue from him I tore at the clothes he was wearing, wanting to get rid of the barriers. In the space of ten minutes, the both of us were blissfully naked. neither caring of the outside world. Gasping as my back slammed onto the table, my thighs were yanked open and his cock rammed into me. A scream was ripped from my lips at the feel of his penetration, arching up off the table.
His thrusts becoming too violent for the table to support our weight, he yanked me into his arms. Wrapping arms and legs around him, feeling the enormity of his muscular build, that only drove me over the edge. The violence, the anger, the pain, whatever he had to offer I wanted and took gladly from him.
Collapsing together on the couch as he finally spem himself inside of me, his seed along with the anger. Settling into the broad chest of the man, hands smoothed across the expanse of his tattoos. A burden of weight was lifted from my shoulders as if I’d literally fucked it out of my system. Lulled into a calm I never thought I’d feel again, I took solace in being in the arms of this man. The only arms I’d ever truly wanted to be.
“Don’t ever interfere again,” Kadden issued the warning when he’d finally gotten his breath back, though his eyes remained closed. “If he’d touched you again. Rhavage wouldn’t have been so nice.”
I understood that was his way of telling me that he hadn’t liked watching someone strike me down. Kadden might not be open to admitting the truth, but on some level, he’d come to care about ine. My face burrowed into his chest. “I was trying to keep the pompous asshole from being killed.. Don’t worry, I will never counider his survival again.”
The barked out laughter. I’ll teach him.”

Chapter Fifty
I took a deep breath. “You still want one, right?”
Those large bronzed arms of his wrapped around me, bringing me more snuggly against his chest. For several long moments, he simply held me to him, as if to reassure the both of us. “We’ll only try when you’re ready. I don’t care what those assholes say. If they want the throne, they’ll have to fight me for ”

I get pregnant,” I said in lieu of an explanation, as I couldn’t stomach the thought of going to war with the Remnants. Because no matter who came out as the winner, in the end, there would be casualties on both sides. And even fighting didn’t guarantee anything, as
there was always the chance we’d be on the losing end.

I didn’t know if I’d be able to reach a point where I was okay with everything thard happened, I would do this. For him. Understanding that since Sara–Beth’s death, the Remnants had been giving him one difficulty after another. The only hope to save the kingdom from the likes of Luke was to grant them the heir they wanted. So honoring the woman who’d sacrificed so much for her people and the man I was mated to, I would do my duty. I would produce another child to become the heir, in the hopes that I wouldn’t suffer the anguish of another loss.
