Chapter 157
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 27
Rowan’s POV
“The werewolf king is here,”
Mika repeated the second time since she didn’t get a reaction from me the first time.
That happened because I wasn’t expecting him in my pack at this time of the day. I turned back to look at the granny’s clock in my apartment. It was almost two in the morning.
“Rowan.”
I glared at her. “What?”
“I said the werewolf…”
“I heard you the first time,” I told her. I heard her perfectly well both times. I just didn’t know how to react to the news of my father being in my father even after I told him not to come.
“We have to meet him at the gates. We can’t just let him come in like that,”
I fucking hated that man more than my life. I hated my life quite a lot but I hated the king more.
“Get all the warriors to the gate, I instructed.
“What about Harriette?”
“She’s wounded. Release her sister and make her stay here with Harriette for the next few hours,” Mika raised an eyebrow. She was probably surprised at the fact that Harriette was in my room
“Okay, Alpha,”
She sent out a mind link to every one of our warriors. Including those on duty and those off duty. A number of them joined Mika and me as we marched towards the gate,
“We can’t turn him back, Alpha Rowan. Mika advised on
“What if I do?” I spat.
“We would be disrespecting the werewolf king and that might lead to war. Remember when you started this place, you promised you wouldn’t have to spill the blood of these rogues at any point just to keep the foundation strong. I know you and Thorne want blood but please, let’s do this the right way
She explained. I ignored her and kept walking.
True to my intuition, my father wasn’t alone. He was with several people that might exceed twenty. There was no way in hell Td allow all of them in and starve my people.
Immediately the gates were opened, I stepped out. My father also stepped out of his car. He removed the scarf he used to cover his face and came right to me.
“Fin guessing your people at the palace don’t know you’re here, asked, pointing at the disguise.
“Not everything should be told, he answered.
Chapter 157
“You should’ve called. We’re not in the medieval era,” I spat.
He nodded and chuckled. “I did but my son refused to pick up my call
That was true. I’d been ignoring his calls for a while. I didn’t want him in my pack. Even though he wasn’t invited or wanted, he still made his way here.
“Text messages?” I asked.
“If you didn’t pick up my calls, why would you reply to my texts
He answered sarcastically.
The Werewolf King was one of those people who deemed himself intelligent and would want to show off at every opportunity they got..
“Why are you here?” I asked.
“To discuss something with you. Will you allow me into your..” be stopped, looking confused.
“Rogue pack, you can say it. It won’t kill you or make you any less of a king.”
1 answered angrily.
He growled. “Allow me into your pack, he finished his statement
s men behind him.
11ooked to see his 1
“They’re too many. My people would starve if I let them all in,”
“That’s no problem. They can stay at a nearby hotel in one of the human towns. How many can you take?” He asked.
“Three,” I answered.
“Seven, Rowan,”
“Five and that’s the most I can do,” I said through gritted teeth.
“Five it is,”
n to enter into the pack with them.
I walked back into my pack and his chief security guy picked four other men to “How old is your dad again, he looks so young?”
Mika whispered behind me. I turned to glare at her. My father had me when he was eighteen. He was young but he was a prince. That was a deadly combination. He never owned up to the responsibility. He left me for whoever was ready to take care of me and that exposed me to a lot of things.
Not for once did he look back.
Until now.
The craziest thing was I was his exact carbon copy. We could pass for twins since he refused to look his age and I looked exactly my age.
“I’m sure you’ve missed me,” He said before he entered his car.
I squinted my eyes at him and thank goodness he was fast and smart enough to enter the car, I would’ve broken the hand he placed on my shoulder.
Chapter 157
One of our cars led their two cars to my house. Aside from the apartment I used at the Alpha’s building, I had my own personal residence ten buildings away from the administration building.
Reluctantly, I joined him in my house.
I dropped my car keys loudly on the dining table and turned to him. He was looking around the house while his security details walked around to see if it was safe.
I snorted.
“This is a good house,”
He complimented.
I scoffed. “Stop pretending. Since when did you care about fucking shit like that?” I spat.
“Language, Rowan,” he cautioned.
“You’re several years late for that,”
“I can perceive this animosity from you to me, Rowan,”
I interrupted him. “How long will you be here?” I asked him.
I asked him. “A few days,”
“Give me a number,” I demanded. A few days could be a month, a year, or several years.
“Three days,”
“Make it one and you’ll have all my attention for the next twenty–four hours, I bargained.
He suddenly frowned. “You hate me that much you can’t stand me for three days,”
I nodded. “Your presence irks me,” I answered.
I wasn’t trying to piss him off this time. It was the truth. His presence reminded me of the neglect and of everything I went through in his palace. Being around him pissed me off every time and it triggered Thorne. The last thing I would want is for him to witness that part of my life.
“What have I done that is so bad? Was I that evil?”
I glared at him. “You don’t get to ask that question, Ulric,” I called him by his real name.
His mouth fell open and he pointed at me. A werewolf king wasn’t supposed to be called his real name but I didn’t care. I was a rogue Alpha, I wasn’t under his authority.
Mika placed her hand on my shoulder, trying to control me. She had to. If I lose my patience any further, Thorne would break free and that would bring about disaster because he would end up killing the werewolf king.
“You’re on the edge, calm down,”
I swallowed hard.
I’ll spend two days. Give ine ten hours of your time each day. I won’t overstep my boundaries or anything. I just need to talk to you. That’s all,”
me
I tapped my feet on the floor as I thought of his offer.
Chapter 157
“Fine, two days, and don’t go against your words.”
His security details came back and told him it was safe. That was when he finally sat down.
“So, tell me, have you found your mate? Is it Mika?” He asked.
Mika laughed. “If I was his mate, he would be dead by now,” she answered just when I was about to ask what was funny.
Mika was a big fan of the man the werewolf king was and she’d never tried to hide it. She liked him for his personality but not his title.
“So, who’s his mate then?” He asked Mika.
She looked at him and I raised an eyebrow.
Mika was a daredevil. So, I knew she would be crazy enough to say the wrong thing.
“Two girls came into our pack a month and a few weeks ago, I think one of them is his mate,”
I grabbed Mika by the back of her neck, pulled her away from him, and dragged her towards the door?
She kept tapping my hand so she could break free and say more but no way would I allow that.
“Go check on the patrol team, Mika,” I answered through gritted teeth.
“Talk to Gideon. I think something’s wrong.”
For three, or five minutes I’d felt Gideon pressing into the mind–link. I didn’t give him access because I knew it was Gideon, it could be a prank.
