Chapter 194
Harriette’s POV
“Mate!”
My wolf growled. I blinked as I kept staring at Rowan. The fact that he’d always been there, knowing who I was but couldn’t do anything about it was painful. Even though he was standing in front of me back then, I didn’t recognize him as my mate. The feelings were there but just not the truth about our connection.
“Are you okay, Reina?” Dad asked me.
I nodded and gave him a small, sad smile.
On our way, we had a little discussion. He was worried about leaving me here for a few days because of what happened to Rowan. I’d assured him I would be fine. It was unusual to have so many people worried about me. It didn’t make me feel special. I felt suffocated. I just couldn’t help the feeling.
I looked back at Rowan again to see a smirk on his face. Whatever was going through his mind suddenly interested me.
“I’ve been trying to reach out to you for days, Alpha Darius,”
Rowan said as he reached out and shook my dad’s hand.
“We’ve been a bit busy,”
My father answered.
“Of course. First class Alpha’s don’t have time for rogues like us,”
There was a hint of anger in his word and I didn’t know if it was directed towards me or my

Dad was surprised to hear that bit of an information and I wasn’t left out too. I didn’t get to take a good look of him.
“Wait! What?”
Rowan shrugged with a dull look in his eyes. He wasn’t comfortable with that conversation anymore. Before dad could ask for anything else, I grabbed his hand and gave him a sign.
Rowan kept on staring at everything except me. I so badly wanted him to look at me again like he did when I was outside the door. The desire in his eyes made butterflies flutter in my stomach.
“To what do I owe this unannounced visit?” Rowan asked.
That was it! He was angry about something and I didn’t think I could take it anymore.
“Dad, please, can you wait outside while I talk to him?” I asked.

I was already sensing the tension in the air. I had to do something before dad gets mad at Rowan’s words and another war between these two cold men begin.
“Fine!” Dad answered through gritted teeth and left the room, locking the door behind him.
“I’m sorry,” I apologised.
“For what?”
“For everything and anything. I know you’re mad at me but I don’t know why,”
I said.
For the next few seconds, he didn’t say anything. He probably found out the truth about Mother and decided to have nothing to do with me anymore.
“You went off on me for two day without even a text after dropping the call like that. I tried reaching out to your pack and no one gave me a reasonable response. Do you even have any idea how worried I was?”
I shook my head. “You did the same to me too,”
“Because I knew you could still reached out to Mika and Gideon. I didn’t want to talk to you because I didn’t need a distraction,”
“So, I’m a distraction,” I asked painfully.
“Yes! Harriette. You drive me out of my mind. You drive me insane. I can’t think straight when you’re involved,” he snapped.
I was dumbfounded. I didn’t even know the right thing to say and when I finally talked, I said something stupid.
“I needed to be alone because I had some things to think about,”
“Why? What were you thinking about?” He asked.
“I got my wolf, Rowan and it unlocked some memories,”

My voice was shaking already. Rowan was already on his feet.
“I’m a very shitty person and I didn’t come into your pack with good intentions and everything I remember made me relaize I’d lived my entire life wrongly,”
Rowan threw his arms around me and hugged me tightly.
“Stop talking, Harriette. I know why you came into my pack and I don’t give a fuck about that. There are worst things to be worried about,”
“I’m sorry I tried to kill you,”
“Everyone around me wants me dead. Its not a new thing. Even my wolf wants me dead

“That doesn’t make it right,”
“I know,” he whispered and kissed my hair.

I stared at him as I gently untangled myself from him.
“I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you sooner,”
“That’s it. One more ‘I’m sorry‘ from you, I’ll tie you up to my bed for days,” He threatened even though it didn’t sound like a threat to me.
I smiled. I didn’t hate the idea as long as it was his bed.
“I don’t want to hear that word from you anymore. It’s not allowed, understood?”
“Yes,”
Before the word could leave my lips properly, Rowan captured my lips with his. He pressed his body into mine and grabbed the back of my neck with one hand. He moved his hand slowly up to my hair and tugged with his fingers. This made me part my lips slightly and Rowan used the chance to slip his tongue inside my mouth.
We untangled from each other and I took a seat. Rowan gave me a few minutes to stop blushing and breathing heavily before he opened the door for my dad. While waiting, we couldn’t stop smiling at each other.
“Harriette already told me why you’re here,”
“She’ll be staying with you for a few days, Alpha Rowan. Take care of my child,”
“I’ll do just that,”
“If she gets hurt, I’ll haunt you down and make sure I kill you,”
Rowan smirked. “I think I would kill myself first if anything bad happens to her,”
