Chapter 21
“Who the hell do you think I am!” I try to push him away.
Dante smirk his dark eyes filled with amusement,
“My wife,” he murmured, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
1 scoffed, crossing my arms. “If you think of me as one of your whores who will spread her 1-
“I am thinking of you as my wife. Nothing less” He said in chilled voice. Cutting me off making my blood boil
I really wanted to slap that smirk off his lips.
Isabella walked toward us, giving a knowing smirk at her eldest son before approching me.
“I’m impressed, darling Her voice was smooth, full of quiet amusement. “You’re really going to be my favorite.”
Dante tensed beside me, but I didn’t care.
Still holding his now bloodstained handkerchief, I shoved him away, straightening my posture as I turned to my mother–in–law,
Thank you. Mother.” I smiled, ignoring the way Dante extuled sharply behind me.
Isabella let out a soft chuckle, clearly entertained.
Come, let me introduce you to the rest of the family” She looped her arm through mine with grace, leading me toward the grand Romano table.
I went without hesitation.
Dante followed behind, with annoyance in his eyes.
“Everyone, meet Elara, my daughter–in–law.” Isabella’s said with her loud voice gainning the attention of romano family,
She gestured toward a young man sitting at the far end of the table, his attention glued to his phone.
This is my youngest son, Nero Romano.
I turned toward the younger Romano, who barely spared me a glance before offering a half–hearted smile and going back to whatever had his attention on his screen.
“Don’t mind him.” Isabella waved dismissively. “He has the shittiest personality, just like his father
Mr. Romano raised an eyebrow at his wife, but said nothing.
I bit back a smile. Isabella was something else.
sitting beside her
“You already know your father–in–law, so let’s move on to my little princess” She gestured toward the stunning young woman sittin father. “Bell Romano. My only daughter”
1 frowned slightly. I never knew the Romano family had a daughter.
Isabella must have read my thoughts because she smirked. “No one knows about her. Security reasons, darling”
Bell stepped forward, dressed in a stunning red mid–thigh dress, exuding confidence and elegance
“Welcome to the family, sister Elara” Her voice was warm, playful. I hope we get along. I’d love to tell you all the embarrassing things about my brothers trust me, I have plenty
Hlaughed, genuinely amused for the first time tonight.
She was going to be fun. I can almost see Dante and Nero rolling their eyes.
And for the first time since stepping into this world, I felt something unexpected.
A sense of belonging.
She then introduce me to her husband side of family. I saw the smile completly gone from her face. She must have hated them.
Chapter 21
One by one, the families began to leave, their goodbyes filled with formalities and quiet murmurs. The night had been long, but I had finally started to relax, engaged in an easy conversation with Andrew and Luca
That was until Dante’s hand wrapped around mine.
Before I could react, he started walking, pulling me effortlessly toward the exit.
“Dante- I tried, but his grip only tightened.
Luca and Andrew shared a knowing smirk, exchanging glances before Luca winked at me.
“Good luck, Mrs. Romano,” Andrew teased, amusement dancing in his eyes.
And then-
Before I could process what was happening, I was suddenly off the ground.
A sharp gasp left my lips as Dante scooped me into his arms bridal style without hesitation, without effort.
The air left my lungs.
“What the hell are you doing?” I hissed, my hands instinctively gripping his shoulders.
Dante didn’t answer.
Didn’t even pause.
He simply carried me through the grand doors of the marriage hall, his grip tighten possessively around me.
Like he had every right to do this.
The night cool air suddenly hit against my burning skin, but it did nothing to steady my racing pulse.
Not when I was this close to him.
Not when I could feel his heartbeat near my ears.
Reaching the sleek white Rolls–Royce, he effortlessly opened the door with one hand before lowering me into the passenger seat.
Gently.
I threw me off.
His one hand braced on the doorframe, the other trailing along my wrist, his fingers grazing my pulse.
“Comfortable?” His voice was smooth, but there was an edge to it something dark and unreadable.
I lifted my chin, refusing to let my unease show. “I could’ve walked”
His lips curved slightly.
“You could’ve” His fingers traced my wrist one last time before pulling away. “But I like carrying what’s mine”
My breath hitched. As he shut the door and walked around to the driver’s side.
I realized something unseling. It will be our wedding night”
I didn’t even realize when we left the city. The roads were unfamiliar, the air different–100 quiet, too isolated.
A frown creased my forehead as I turned to him. “Are we not going to your house?”
Dante said nothing
His grip on the steering wheel remained steady, his expression was blank, as the car rolled to a slow stop.
Before I could press for an answer, he stepped out, tossing the keys to a man who had appeared out of nowhere, dressed in black, face blank as
My pulse kicked up.

“Dante-
But before I could demand an explanation, he moved,
In one swift motion, he opened my door and lifted me into his arms.
“Dante!
Put me down I struggled, but it was useless,
“No.” His voice was calm. final.
My heart slam against my ribs as we entered a very beautifully decorated room with a wide pools and candles.
“Where are we?” I demanded, my fingers clutching his suit
His gaze flickered down to me, dark. His breath fan against my eyes.
