“If you’re sure? Benjamin nodded firmly and her father took the key and patted his arm. I’ll see you tomorrow, he whispered, leaning into her ear and kissing her temple,
“Okay, momma, time for bed, Benjamin commented and she looked at her boys. “They’re safe here. You need rest so you can cope with the upcoming days.”
“I know… just… it’s just… I don’t want them to be alone.”
Benjamin cut her off and knelt down in front of her. “My mom is on her way back now to stay with them for the night and I’ll have my pager. If we’re needed, the boys‘ nurse will page me.
Pandora frowned, unsure of why he thought that would calm her down. “I’m spending the night here at the hospital with you if that’s okay?”
“I would really like that, are you allowed to stay?
‘Yes, of course, I may not be your doctor anymore, but I would like to keep a close eye on you, and be here for the boys.
Pandora leaned into Benjamin and wrapped her arms around him “Thank you, she whispered, knowing that he had done so much for her and the boys.
Benjamin took her back to her room, and she used the restroom and got checked over by the nurse. After she told Pandora she was doing well. Benjamin came back into the room. She looked at Benjamin and then at the bed.
“Will you be sharing?” she asked shyly. She had only ever shared a bed with her girlfriends and Derrik.
I’m okay in the chair.”
“Oh, she said somewhat dejectedly.
“Pandora, if you want me to sleep beside you, I will. I just didn’t want to overstep-
“You’re not, she interrupted.
Benjamin nodded and she moved into the bathroom and turned on the shower. “Do you think I could get mere pain meds?” she asked, looking out the door.
“Yes, but you need to eat something first.
Pandora sighed but knew he was right. She moved back into the bathroom, closing the door before stripping off her clothes. After taking a short shower, de got changed into a pair of her own pajamas and felt better.
She walked out to find that Benjamin had also changed into pajamas. He moved to her and helped her into the bed.
“My mom dropped off some new pajamas; what she said was better undergarments, better pads, breast pads, and your own breast pump, he stopped and chuckled. “She didn’t like the one in the room, so…” he cleared his throat. “She got you these, too, he held up a pair of fully shippers and a matching rebe
“She also brought them drinks, snacks, and dinner because she said hospital food was not as good as her home cooking
Pandora felt herself bhish as she got a little overwhelmed by everything she had done. Derrik’s mother hated her from the get–go. Over the years that Derrik and she dated, and then were married, she never once bought Pandora a gift.
“Thank you,” she whispered to him and he grinned as he winked at her.
“She likes you, so don’t worry about that. She tilted her head at him. As I was telling you what she brought, I couldn’t help but remember that crazy–ass woman who yelled at you when you were in here sick.”
“Miriam… yea, shen Derrik’s mom, and she’s never liked me. I was just thinking about how I’ve known her most of my life and was in Derrik’s life for almost ten years, but she never bought me a candy bar, never mind doing anything like this.”

Chapter 77
Pandora slowly started to eat the food, all of which tasted amazing. She only made it halfway through her food, before she became too tired to eat anymore. She moved up the bed and laid down facing Benjamin as he moved swiftly around the room, cleaning up.
He switched off the light and then moved over to the bed.
“Are you sure?” he asked softly and she moved over so her back was to the bathroom wall. He smiled softly as he got in. As Benjamin lay down, Pandora let out a soft breath and her eyes closed.
She let out a soft hum as she slowly woke up. First, she was hit with the fact that there was something warm under her, but before her mind could question it, a cramping pain ripped through her.
“Hey, easy,” a warm voice said as she curled up.
She groaned, feeling really tired and unable to open her eyes. “My stomach hurts and so do my breasts, she whined just a little.
“You need to express some milk, which will help relieve the pressure on your breasts. Your stomach will hurt for a while due to the fact your uterus is contracting back to its normal size.”
Her eyes flickered open to see Benjamin’s chest. Tilting her head a little, she saw that he, too, looked sleepy, but was watching her.
“Okay,” she mumbled to him, and he slowly slid out from under her and moved swiftly around the room.
“I am going to switch on the lights,” he told her and she closed her eyes.
