Chapter 78
She then slowly opened them. Feeling the need to use the restroom first, she got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. She took care of her needs as her mind did a fast rerun of what happened yesterday. She washed her hands, feeling weird–not only was she a mom, but she was also a wife.
“Did yesterday really happen?” she asked him when she walked back to the bed.
“If you’re talking about delivering the twins in a car, and finding out that you’re married to a great doctor who’s also a handsome guy, then yes,” Benjamin replied lightly as he handed her the breast pump.
Oh, that’s right, where is my handsome husband and great doctor at anyway?” Pandora retorted as she looked around the room.
“Hey, wife, I’m your great doctor and handsome husband. You must obey and respect me.” She raised her eyebrow at him, and he rolled his eyes. “Fine; you found out you were married to a geek,” he muttered, making her laugh.
“A handsome geek,” she added as she hooked up the breast pump.
“I knew you thought I was good–looking.”
“Yeah, but I’ve been pregnant; my hormones have been all over the place!”
“Not when you married me, and allowed me to fu… make love to you.”
“I was very drunk,” she informed him with a smile that made him shake his head.
“I was blown away by your beauty both times I first met you.” She frowned as she looked at him. “The very first time I saw you was at Royce’s bar. And then the next first time was when I saw you in my office clutching my photo.”
She bit her lip as he smiled goofily at her. “Maybe if I had had my tattoos and grey eyes showing, you would have let me make love to you that day, too.”
She swallowed hard as he leaned closer to her. “I wanted to, and the fact that you were so wet didn’t help matters for me at all.”
She felt her face heat up. “I’m so sorry.”
Benjamin shook his head at her. “I’m not sorry at all, but I should have known then that Dora was you. I’ve only ever had that reaction to one girl and that’s you. If I had thought about it, I would’ve realized you were the same girl as the one I married in Vegas.
Pandora moved forward, kissing his lips. He leaned into the kiss, taking it over, but suddenly pulled back.
“Change breasts, Pandora.”
She looked down to see that she had a good amount of breast milk at that time. She smiled, switched the pump to her other breast, and tilted her head up so Benjamin could kiss her again. It was not long before she was done expressing milk from both breasts.
“Would you like to come with me?” She looked up at Benjamin. “I need to take this down to the NICU and I want to pop in to see the boys while I’m there. Do you want to come with me?”
‘Yes, of course, I do, sweetheart,” he said with a smile.
Is it strange that I miss them so much?”
“No, they’ve been a part of your life for eight months.”
“They were a part of your life, too, I know you didn’t know, and neither did 1, but they always reacted to you and your touch.” She dropped her eyes from him, not wanting to get any readings from his face. “Do you really think they will be okay?” she asked, changing the subject.
She felt Benjamin’s hand cup her face, he tilted her head up so that she was looking at him. “I am not going to lie, Pandora, they have a huge fight on their hands. But I have to believe they will make it. They may develop problems, but I know we–together–can, and will overcome them.”
she stopped and shook her head. Can you show me what to do? Educate me on what could go wrong with them. I can’t be their mom holding them right now, but I can be a mom by learning what they will need me to do.
I will, and you are doing great, sweetheart ́
Benjamin kissed her head and smiled as he stood up. Put your breasts away so we can see our boys, but just for a short visit, because you still need to rest.”
She snorted as she tucked her breasts away, not even feeling remotely embarrassed by him having to remind her. She stood up and he took her hand.

Chapter 78
Benjamin kept a hold of her hand the entire way to the NICU.
When they got there, the first thing they did was label and put away the boys‘ milk. After that was stored in the refrigerator, they washed up and put on our gowns. Before they entered the room where the boys were, Benjamin took her hand in his again.
As she approached the boys, her eyes moved to Lana, who was sitting in between them, knitting.
“Hey, Mom, Benjamin spoke in a low tone, making her look at them. “How have our boys been?”
“Just two little blips for Jack, and Micheal had five,” she said as if she was telling them football scores.
“What- what’s a blip?” Pandora asked.
“She’s talking about having to remind them to breathe. They are fine,” Benjamin assured, pulling her down to sit in the rocking chair.
“Oh, Pandora, I am so sorry.” She looked toward Lana as she apologized. “That’s what I called them when Benjamin was in here, and he had so many more than what Micheal’s been having in his first few hours.”
“Benjamin was in here?” she asked as Lana wiped her tears.
“Yes, you see, I ended up in surgery when I was seven months pregnant. Benjamin was born first followed by his twin sister, Bernadette.”
