Chapter 97
“What do you mean ‘what‘? Do you need a heating aid now, too? I fold you to fuck off, Raegan.”
“But-”
“But nothing, Raegan, I made my feelings clear to you at Maisey’s wedding, and again when you called me. We are done, and even if I wasn’t married, I still wouldn’t ever be with you. Now I am married and have been for over nine months to my beautiful wife, and i
have two sons.”
“Really, Benjamin, you went out and got that slut pregnant?
“She is not a slut!” Emily and Benjamin yelled at the same time.
“Please, can I?” Emily said, grinning at Benjamin.
“Please, if you could, Emily,” Benjamin replied.
Pandora opened her mouth to talk, but Emily grabbed Raegan. One hand was in her hair while the other had a tight hold on Raegan’s arm, and she marched Raegan out the front door.
“Okay, so that was Raegan?” Pandora asked as Benjamin sighed and nodded at her.
“Yeah, I am sorry. I tried to get back here as quickly as I could.”
“How did you know she was here?”
“Emily texted me and told me she was here.”
“Well, I took out the trash, but I have to ask. Just what in the hell did you stay with that bitch for?” Emily asked as she flopped down on the chair and started to drink the coffee Pandora made her
“You used to live here?” she asked, realizing Raegan thought Emily still lived here. Emily looked at Benjamin, and then at her.
“Yes, Taylor and I broke up for two years. During that time, I went out with another guy who was heavy–fisted. To make a long story short, I was living with the guy, and one time he was angry. I’m not sure why, but he turned up at work and hit me hard enough to break my nose. Benjamin stepped in, and when he found that I had nowhere to go, he invited me to stay here.”
“Raegan hated it. She hated that I was living here and she wasn’t even invited to stay over all that much. I met Taylor again at Maisey’s wedding, and we reconnected.”
She covered Emily’s hand, knowing full well she just downplayed all of it, “I’m sorry.”
Emily waved her off. “I am fine, but Benjamin allowing me to move here for those few months helped me a lot. And, it should have given both him and Raegan a clue that their relationship was not good. I mean, he knew her for eight years and he never asked her to move in. But he knew me less than a year, and you, well… you know. The way you two are together, that’s how you are when you’re involved with someone.”

“It’s not that I think Raegan wasn’t in love with Benjamin, but I think it was more the things about Benjamin that she truly loved. She loved his money, looks, title, family background, and standing in the community. Her biggest goals were always to make sure she and Benjamin we seen in public in the right places.”
“You know the same way I used to be in high school, where I would make sure I kissed the guys in front of everyone? How I always told everyone how happy and in love we were, but behind closed doors, I was colder than a fish with them?”

Chapter 97
Pandora’s eyes flashed to Benamin who nodded in agreement.
“Okay, I think it’s best I get back to work, and you stay away from the clinic,” she said, waving her finger at Benjamin. “Tonk after your wife, and make sure she gets some rest. When I got here today, he was busy scrubbing and cleaning things.
Pandora hissed at Emily to be quiet as she felt Benjamin’s eyes on the side of her head.
“Thanks, Emily, and I will,” he said.
“Oh, make sure before you come back to the clinic that you give her the rundown on the bitches at work. No wait, I’ll do that next time I visit. I know you don’t like to label them the way they deserve to be.”
?
“Thanks,‘ she replied, picking up that Emily meant the ones that had a thing for Benjamin. She opened the door, but she was surprised to see a man standing there with his hand raised as if he was about to knock,
“Hello,” she said.
“Hello, are you Ms. Pandora Leonard?”
“Yes, that’s me?”
“You’ve been served,” he said, handing her a stack of papers and walking away.
Pandora looked down at the paperwork and gasped, falling back into Benjamin’s arms.
“Pandora, what’s going on?” he asked.
“He’s taking me to court and suing me for full custody of the boys!” she cried.
Benjamin carried her to the sofa, and together, they read over the papers. There was an emergency hearing set, and Derrik was claiming the boys were his children.
Benjamin knelt before her on the couch. “Breathe, love,” he guided her as he took the papers from her.
“I’ll call the troops in,” Emily whispered, as if in shock, or maybe it was just Pandora.
“What the fuck is he playing at?” she asked out loud, yet not directed at anyone in particular. “He knows they cannot be his. I mean, do the math. Any first grader could deduce it is impossible. We’ve been divorced for ten months and we separated twenty months ago. Not to mention it’s been twenty–four or more months since we last had sex.”
“Is he that stupid, does he think I am an elephant?” she asked harshly as her eyes finally rested on Benjamin.
“I’m not sure, love. But the court will turn him away. We already have indisputable DNA, showing I am the father of the boys.”
“Yeah, I know, and once again he’ll get a slap on the hand and be told to leave me alone. It is the same thing they tell kids at school who bully others. Don’t do it anymore, but it doesn’t make a difference because they still torment and tease the people they see as weaker than them.”
