The word hit Xavier like a punch to the gut.
“No, Mia, please,” he begged, tears streaming down his face. “Don’t do this. Don’t give up on me, on us.”
I looked at the man that I once loved before turning my gaze away, my expression cold and distant. “You gave up on us the moment you chose Vanessa over me. This is your fault, Xavier and you have to live
with it.

You need to understand Mia, I have absolutely no feelings for Vanessa!”
Vanessa looked at the man beside her and
bit down her lip in frustration. She looked at me before clutching her stomach and falling to the floor screaming as blood poured down her dress making Xavier horrified.

As if he had already forgotten about our
argument.
“Vanessa!”
“Brother please call a doctor.” Xavier at me like he was immersed in guilt.
Jake and Felix watched it like a play was unfolding in front of them when the doctors came in.
“She has lost a lot of blood.” the doctor said grimly. “We need to run some tests immediately. Move her to the next ward!”
As Vanessa was taken away I saw Xavier conflicted between me and her.
“Just go already. If you” I said coldly. “Your real priority is not here.”
Xavier looked at me with tears in his eyes.
“This is the last time Mia. She is
bleeding.” he declared, his voice steady but laced with urgency. “Once this is over, I’ll make it clear with Vanessa and Eliot. Mia, can you trust me again?”

When I did not say anything he looked at me for a long time before going out.
“She might be bleeding, but even the thought of losing a mate makes a werewolf crazy. At this moment if you can choose that woman then Mia he was never there in the relationship, to begin with.” I heard Felix and could not help but feel miserable to love such a selfish man.
When Xavier finally returned, his face was pale with his expression unreadable. My brothers had already warned me of this outcome thus I asked bracing myself for a pang of betrayal.
“How is your sweetheart?” When he did not say anything and kept looking at the floor with tears training down his eyes I answered on his behalf.
“Is your mistress pregnant already?”

Our conversation was interrupted when a small boy dashed inside my ward without any warning.

Xavier could not control his rage and
snapped.
“Shut up and
go to your mother!” Afraid of Xavier’s anger Eliot did not wait and ran
away crying. As soon as he was out of sight, Xavier looked at me with a serious expression.
“Mia, listen to me, I will make Vanessa abort this child.
