courtroom as the people were reminded of the past, Xavier on the other hand frowned unable to understand anything.

later Xavier sat in the pack orphanage, his. head in his hands. Across from him, an six- year–old boy with Vanessa‘ s shadow on
his face.
“Uncle Xavier.” even the child understood
that he should not refer to Xavier as his
father anymore.
“Will you visit me?” Eliot asked hesitantly.
Xavier hesitated. “I’ll try,” he said, though the weight of his guilt for our dead child and hatred for Vanessa told him it. might be better if he didn’t.
As Xavier left the orphanage, he did not turn back to look at the boy and directly went to the bar drowning himself in
alcohol.

I sighed, my heart heavy.
