The next evening brought a terrible headache for me.
“Princess Mia, Alpha Xavier from the Jade moon pack is asking for your attendance.” Enraged by his sudden appearance, at first I thought to reject the request but taking Xavier’s temperament into account I allowed him to meet me.

Killian’s smirk deepened, but his tone turned icy. “You‘ d do well to hold your tongue, Alpha. Not everyone’s going to bow and scrape just because you have a title which you do not deserve.”

“Alpha Xavier, why don’t you tell Mia what really happened all those years ago?” Killian’s voice called softly, almost like a fierce demon whispering to which Xavier was stunned.
“Please go on Killian.” Astonished by Xavier’s stunned silence I felt something
was wrong.
“What? Cat got your tongue?”
“N–No! You were just an insignificant omega! How can you be the Archduke of North?!”
For a moment, silence hung between us, the tension whiplashing as if a storm ready to surge.

“Mia, did you fall in love with this man thinking he was your savior?”
“Yes,” my voice trembled with emotion. when Xavier looked guilty.
“What is going on Killian?”
“This man who acted like a hero making you serve him like he fucking earned it is nothing but a thief who stole you from me. It was not him who liberated you or anyone else from the rogue captivity, it was me.”
“No Mia! don’t listen to him he is lying, I did not betray you-”
“The archduke is not lying princess. He is telling the truth.” At that crucial moment the familiar figure of a man who once taunted me appeared. Unlike before he was gaunt and looked sickly pale after losing a significant amount of weight.
“Theodore!” My chest heaved with indignation as I recognised him while Xavier’s eyes darkened.

“How dare you appear in front of me?” Theodore flinched as my words reminded. him of his evil deeds.
“Princess I understand that I am the last person in the world that you wish to see for I have wronged you beyond
comprehension but at this moment I am just here to help you out to find the truth.”
“If you tell your nonsensical stories, fabricating evidence against me, I will not let you live you bastard!” Despite Xavier’s rage Theodore was least affected.
“My mate passed away a week ago because I could not afford the medicine for her. At this moment Xavier all I care for is to send you and Vanessa to hell, and it does not matter if I have to follow you there.”
“Princess Mia, Five years ago while you were in the rogue captivity, the royal family announced innumerable rewards for
people who could rescue you and others without revealing much information.

At that time the Jade moon pack was desperate of wealth to expand our power, thus we collectively took upon the mission but just like others, we could not find any clues about you. It was then a man claiming to be an omega appeared asking Xavier to join our team to rescue you all.
He got himself captured and killed the rogues finally finding your location and warning off the royal guards but he was heavily injured and was unconscious in the cell where you were kept blindfolded. While rescuing you, we accompanied the royal guards.
Later when Xavier found that the omega did not have long to live, he threw him out in the wastelands to die and claimed that
he saved everyone. You must not know this princess but the King secretly gave ten million dollars to Alpha Xavier when he married you.”
“That’s not true, Mia. This man is trying to fool you-”

Xavier looked utterly defeated. Standing close, he lowered his head and pleaded,
“Mia, please listen to me.
I went forward and slapped the man I have once loved. Xavier clutched my hand not caring for the bruise on his face.
“You dare lie to me! Tell me where did you marry me for money?!”
“I did not knew that I would come to love you then!”
“Did you marry me so that once you have money you could go to Vanessa and be with your childhood sweetheart and discard me away because you thought I was an orphan?!”
“It’s not like that! It was the mistake Mia! I could have done it to someone else but to you I would never-” another slap soon followed as I realised what Xavier had planned all along.
“Theodore, please continue.”

“Princess, all this time, it was not Xavier who saved you, but you who followed him without expecting anything in return.
And the person who did everything for you selflessly was Archduke Killian, he was that omega who miraculously survived.” My eyes widened with tremors wracking though my body.
“You..You came from the north and surrendered yourself?” Killian smiled slowly, sadness covering his features.
“If I exposed my identity, the rogues would have known something was wrong and if they knew that they had captured the princess, your life would have been in danger. Mia, all these years I did not forget you once, nor did I ever abandon you… after that incident I was in a coma for four years.
I gasped before closing my eyes in anguish, tears trailing down as I looked at Killian.
