In the royal bedchamber, Killian picked me up before dropping me on the fluffy bed, my hands clutched Killian’s shoulders as I pulled him closer.
“Killian, I am all yours.” my voice trembled with emotion as my husband kissed me in a daze.
“My beautiful wife, I am never letting you
go.”
Xavier, hidden just outside the room, felt his vision blur with rage when he heard the rustling of clothes with each word being a dagger to his chest.
He’d come to believe that I might return by his side once my obsession with Killian was over, he thought it was all but a fleeting illusion, just like he had it with Vanessa. But now, as he listened to my voice filled with adoration for another man, something inside him snapped.

Killian filled me in his arms, scooping me
up once again to take me to take off my wedding gown when a huge crash was heard outside.
“I am sorry Mia, but you left me with no choice.”
Xavier had earlier instructed some rogues he had brought with him to take my mother, the queen as a hostage without caring of the dire consequences he might face.
Disturbed by the sudden noise Killian stopped abruptly as I asked him with worry. “What was that?”
Killian frowned, his lycan sensing a premonition. “I am going to check it out Mia, but no matter what happens you must not open your door for anyone, rogues are experts in copying other people’s voices so until you sense my lycan, do not step out.”
“No, Killian, I’m coming with you,” I protested, but he shook his head firmly.

“Mia, just this once” he said, cupping my face gently. “my instinct are screaming at me that something is terribly wrong.” I nodded reluctantly as my husband kissed my forehead, before spinning on his heel and going out after locking the door.
I waited patiently only to be haunted by the screaming noises coming from outside. My body trembled with fear as a sudden knock jolted me with dread.
“Mia it’s me, Felix please open the door.” the door was continuously knocked and even when I heard my brother calling out multiple times, I trusted Killian’s instincts and tried to remain calm.
“Mia, rogues have surrounded us from all sides and my wounds are bleeding badly, I don’t know if I can make it but just know that I loved you-” Even before the sentence could be completed I opened the door, fearing that my brother was unwell.
“This time it is not my fault to lie” my heart raced as I saw another person standing

“How did you enter the palace?”
“Why? Are you surprised that I can come inside and track you down Mia.‘
Xavier stepped inside, and with each step forward I took a step back looking into his eyes wild.
“Stay away, Xavier!”
“You thought you could completely leave me behind and marry another man? You were supposed to be mine, Mia!”
Why are you here now Xavier? We are already done! How many times should I tell you the same thing over and over again!” I snapped, my voice steady and firm despite the terrible fear gripping my heart.
