Chapter 4
“It’s your luck to resemble Sini, even just a little.”
Alpha Albert’s tone carried a trace of pity.
In that moment, my heart completely shattered.
So this was it. Over a year of being together, and to him, it was all because I reminded him
of Sini.
A whirlwind of emotions consumed me.
“Alpha Albert!” Someone called urgently from outside the house.
Alpha Albert responded, then turned to look
at me.

“Stay here. Don’t even think about leaving again.”
Unconvinced I’d obey, he retrieved a shackle meant for restraining animals.
Even as tears streamed down my face, silently pleading, he fastened it around my ankle without hesitation.
Alpha Albert nodded, seemingly satisfied, and finally walked away.
As his figure disappeared into the distance, my tears streamed down even more uncontrollab Added to the library

parents believing someone else was his true soul mate.
My severed arm, my tongue taken from me- each wound a cruel reminder of my torment.
The tears kept flowing, unstoppable. I struggled to my feet, the chain dragging against the floor with a soft, grating sound.
Taking a deep breath to steady my trembling heart, I stepped toward the full–length mirror in the room.
I smashed it with all my strength, then picked up a shard of glass.
In the reflection, my bloodshot eyes stared back, devoid of any hope for life.

and rejected you.
With that thought, I pressed the shard against my arms, slashing deep wounds along the flesh.
Soon, I felt the warmth beneath me–the carpet absorbing my blood.
Slowly, I closed my eyes, but then, a cacophony of sounds pulled me back.
“Keep her alive at all costs!” Alpha Albert’s furious voice rang out.
With great effort, I opened my eyes to find myself in an operating room. Alpha Albert stood on the other side of the window, his gaze filled with anguish.
I moved my lips, forcing out a single
sentence.

“I want to leave you.”
As the words left me, a wave of calm washed over my body, and I let my eyes close again, craving rest.
“No vital signs from the patient!”
“Get blood transfusions now!”
“All available blood was already requisitioned by Alpha Albert!”
Before long, the lead doctor emerged from the operating room.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Albert. We couldn’t save Luna. She succumbed to severe blood loss.”

Hearing those words, Alpha Albert’s eyes turned a furious crimson. He grabbed the doctor by the collar, lifting him off the ground.
“Say that again!”
Terrified, the doctor stammered and repeated the verdict.
Alpha Albert threw the doctor against the ground with a violent shove. “I want to see my Luna now! You’re all lying to me!”
Shaking, Alpha Albert staggered toward the operating room.
My lifeless body lay still on the surgical table.
Alpha Albert approached, disbelief written all over his face.

“Luna?”
He whispered, as if I were simply asleep.
The director followed closely behind him. “Alpha Albert, we did everything we could, but Luna’s will to survive was too weak. The bleeding wouldn’t stop, and…”
Sometimes, unspoken words hurt more than the truth itself.
Alpha Albert’s eyes burned with fury. He turned to face the director.
“You’re telling me it’s Luna’s fault, after all the support the pack gave to this hospital?”
The director, taken off guard by Alpha Albert’s words, opened his mouth several times but said nothing.

Alpha Albert knelt beside my body, gently stroking my cold hand.
The blood on my wrist had long dried, a stench hanging in the air.
But Alpha Albert didn’t seem to care in the slightest.
