Chapter 47
Asher’s POV
We pulled up
up at the
e Lycan Sage’s temple- I could see Gemini’s eyes darting confused around the place as she tried to make sense of where we’re
“Is this some kind of prank!” she said as she finally stepped out of the car. “What are we doing in such
“Follow me!” I ordered and began my walk towards the cave.
a deserted place!”
“You mean I should follow you in there?” Gemini asked behind me, a hint of scepticism in her voice. “Are you trying to kill me without any trace?”
Tignored her questions as I had been doing in the car, despite the fact that her constant questioning was almost driving me insane.
Alan and the driver remained in the car while Gemini fearfully followed me in. “What the fuck is this place?” She echoed as soon as we started taking the steps down.
Shush,” I hushed but I could still hear her murmurs.
After a long trail of stairs, we arrived at the bottom of the cave. By this time, Gemini was already clinging to me. I had expected it, considering the fact that each downward step made the place seem even more scary-
“Is this some
some sort of slaughterhouse?” She asked unreasonably, though fear lingered in her voice.
“Does it look like one to you?” I finally replied, pissed at her never–ending questions.
“Your majesty!” The Lycan Sage’s voice echoed in the empty space.

Gemini’s grip on me tightened even more, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of the speaker. The Lyean Sage finally emerged fr shadows, his regular white attire flowing like that of a bride.
Gemini looked back at me as if in search of an explanation, but I gave her none, my eyes fixed on the Sage.
The Sage’s eyes lingered on Gemini for a while, his eyes narrowing as if he was trying to see through her. “She’s my mate,” I said.
He nodded. “It’s obvious, the King I know would never tolerate just any woman”
His words left me thinking for a couple of seconds as I realised that maybe he was right. I had tolerated a lot of things from Gemini that I wouldn’t tolerate from anyone else
“Have your seat, your majesty. His words pulled me from my thoughts.
Iled Gemini to the pavement which was considered as the seat here. She was still taking in the environment, her senses on the edge.
“So, what brings you here, Your Majesty? How may I serve you?“
“I need to know all of her movements from the day the full moon” Gemini who was still looking disturbed at the si
sight before her suddenly
“Really?” Disappointment was written al
over her face. “You still don’t believe me?”
The Sage beckoned on Gemini, “Me?” She pointed to herself,
f, and then she looked back at me. I maintained a cold unreachable expression, showing ber just how serious the situation was
“I won’t bite!” “The sage said with the intent of making her feel a little more comfortable.
She swallowed hard before matching towards him…..
“Lay down here! He ordered, pointing towards an elevated section in the middle of the cave.
After a few words from hum, Gemini fell into a deep sleep-
The Sage began to narrate what he was seeing and surprisingly, all Gemini said was true. She was ambushed and taken against her will. A feeling of guit settled within me at the thought of having doulard her
His fingers trailed over her body and despite how I tried to convince myself that he was just doing as I had instructed, I couldn’t stop myself from getting mad at how his hands surfed around her skin

“There’s no need to get mad, your majesty. It’s all for the purpose which you have sent me.” He reassured me, indicating that he could hear the banter going on in my mind.
Of course, he is a Lycan too, so I expected it. I just didn’t think I could get so jealous and
possessive of Gemini.
His trailing hands stopped on the mating mark on her neck. “This..” He dwelled there for a moment. “This is fake.”
My eyes grew wider in disbelief, “What do you mean?”
Up until now, I had never thought that a mating mark could be forged and so my mind didn’t even think of that being a possibility. I just kept filling my head with thoughts of how Gemini had cheated on me.
All of the Sage’s revelation opened my eyes to the realisation that I might have trusted the wrong set of people. Not only was all the evidence fake but my mate was also kidnapped right under my nose and possibly by my own people- cause not even one stranger was recorded at the park that night.
I slammed my hand against the wall in a fit of rage. How could I have been so blinded?
“Can you fish out everyone involved?” I requested, my mind racing with a list of potential culprits.
He shook his head, his eyes still shut. “It’s hard to recognise them from just the eyes ‘cause they were all masked. But if you give me a little more time with her, I could be able to fish them out.”
“And the wolfsbane?” I added, curiously. “Did they feed her the wolfsbaner
His hands travelled to her belly. The poison is fresh, must be from a day or two days ago.
“Hmm,” I sighed.
He set Gemini to sit upright, chanting some words as he controlled the poison from her stomach. Gemini began to throw up, though still
unconscious
I knew th
that the Sage was the only one who could get this stuff done, even Doctor Nathan admitted to the fact that this was beyond his power
Gemini almost emptied her guts into the bowl that the Sage had set in front of her. Her breathing grew ragged by the passing of the seconds.
After what seemed like an eternity, the Sage looked up at me. “She is clean!” He declared and my heart instantly found price.
Thank goodness-
I had been so filled with worry that I didn’t realise I was sweating profusely. “And what about the mark? How do I get rid of that?”
“By marking her!” He said, his instructions straight to the point.
