Chapter 51
Gemini’s POV
Today felt somewhat awkward, speaking from the fact that everyone except me skipped breakfast and even lunch…
I tried to rack my brain to ensure I wasn’t forgetting any important date, but I couldn’t remember a thing. Also, the business dinner King Asher had talked about is not until next Friday.
“What is going on Where is everyone!” I asked the maids as they packed up the remains from launch. They shook their heads unknowingly, and so did every other person I approached for an answer.
| mad at him and had been avoiding him for days. And secondly cause I didn’t want him
How does no one know anything?”
I was sceptical about asking King Asher, first cause I was to think we’re now cool.
use I was still mad
But I couldn’t help my curiosity-
Unable to bear being in the dark. I braced myself to visit King A
Asher’s office.
As I made my way downstairs, I noticed Becca’s door was slightly ajar. My curiosity piqued and I slowed down, wondering what was g
was going on. I cautiously approached the door, not wanting to announce my presence. Peeking inside, I saw Becca packing her bags, her face twisted in a scowl.
I froze, intrigued by what I was witnessing. Becca is leaving? I thought, clearly not convinced. Could this be some kind of drama to get Asher’s attention, or has she finally accepted the fact that Asher would never be loyal to one woman? I remained there longer than I wished, trying to make sense of the situation.
Just as I was about to turn away. Becca’s eyes snapped towards me, her gaze blazing with anger.
- r. “What are you looking att” She roared. “What’s so interesting about what I’m doing that you can’t seem to take your eyes off it.”
I rolled my eyes, uninterested as 1 continued towards the stairs. Becca on the other hand wasn’t giving up, she grabbed my hand and pulled me
back.
“Running now, ain’t you?
you?” she sneered. “Did you suddenly get scared or something?“
Her words kind of sounded funny, prompting me to chuckle. “You wish-
Becca closed the space between us, her cheeks visibly hot. “You think you’ve won, don’t you?” she spat. “You think you deserve Asher?” She laughed painfully.
“Newsflash, Gemini you don’t. He’ll use you and discard you.”
I raised an eyebrow, a sly smile spreading across my face. “Like he did with you, right?” I taunted, using her past with Asher against her. I didn’t really know the details of their relationship, but I could tell that she wasn’t over Asher, not one bit.
Becca’s face turned beet red with rage. “You little skankt” she hissed, her hands clenched ho fists.
uare”
I shrugged, unfazed by her outburst. “I’m not bothered about Asher’s intentions. But it’s clear you are”
Becca’s eyes narrowed, her expression menacing “You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into, Gemini. But mark my words you’ll regret the day you ever crossed paths with Asher.”
I scoffed. “Trust me, I already am. But what’s sadder is you who sees the shit I’m going through and wishes to be in my pithole. Shows how lowly you think of yourself.” My reply was accompanied by a sinile that seemed to trigger a devilish amount of anger in Becca.
“And before you think that this is some sort of competition, you should know that I’m not one hit interested in becoming Queen. Asher, the title. They are all yours” I concluded, leaving Becca seething with rage.
As I moved along, I couldn’t help but notice the heavy smile plastered on Cain’s face. He seemed to have witnessed the whole banter and I could swear that I saw a sense of pride in him- you know, that prosid lng brother moment.
I met him in the middle of the stain
inurad of continuing back up, he followed me downstairs, comunending me as we strolled.
“You know, you’re the only y person I’ve seen that can challenge Becca to the point she is speechless. Sometimes I want to ask, who are you?” Cain said, approving of my bravery with a grin
“Was just telling her my mind—” I stated.

He shook his head in disapproval. “Well she doesn’t take it that way. This is clearly a challenge to her.”
“I don’t care how she takes it, it’s her problem to deal with.”
The topic was already seeming boring and so I opted for a change. “Cain- I called, pausing for a bit,
is there something I need to know”
“Hmm… I would say a lot, but what exactly y are we talking about?” he replied.
I frowned slightly as I explained the weirdness from everyone including him—
“Don’t tell me that you have no idea that his royal highness asked us to leave, Cain said sarcastically. I held my hand in front of my mouth in shock, though a part of me knew that Asher was well capable of that
“But why!”
“Does Asher really need a reason to do what he does!”
True, I found myself nodding at his words.
*50 you mean your parents have left?”
“Yeah, they left this morning. I would also be leaving soon, so consider this our goodbye conversation.”
Much later in the day. I was lounging in my room, lost in thought, when I heard a gentle knock on the door. I opened it to find Cain standing in the hallway, a mysterious smile on his face
“Hey, I brought you something,” he said, holding out a beautifully wrapped package.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued, “What is it?”
Cain chuckled. “Open it and see.
I unwrapped the package to reveal a stunning painting. The artwork pictured something I loved so much–nature. It was a serene landscape of a vibrant sunset over the beach. I gasped in admiration.
“Cain, this is beautiful!” I said in awe, but something came into my mind almost immediately. “But why are you giving it to me?
He shrugged. “I wanted to gift it to you for your birthday, but since I’ll be leaving soon, I figured I’d give it to you now.”
My eyes narrowed. “My birthday is still two months and d some days away.” I stated. Of course, I didn’t expect him to know.
“Ist of June. I’m aware–h
he blurted out, causing my eyes to grow wider. “I just don’t know if I would have any reason to return here by then”
Clearly still shaken, I asked. “How do you even know my birthday?‘
Cain’s smile grew wider. “Trust me, I know more than you think.”
felt a shiver run down my spine. “But not in a weird way,” he added, suddenly easing the tension.
I let out a heavy sigh, “You scared the crap out of me. I admitted, holding onto my chest.
“So do you like it?” He smiled in anticipation of my reply.
“Of course, I love it!” I said, returning the smile.
“I’m glad you do.” He said before briefly glancing at has wristwatch. “I have to go now, Gem. See you whenever we meet again” He parted me. lightly on the head before exiting.
I stood by my door watching him leave.
I hadn’t fally opened up to
p to Cain, but I would be lying if I said we didn’t make any progress. I just found his presence surprisingly comforting.
A thundering crash from down the hallways suddenly threw me out of my reverie followed b
