Chapter 62
Gemini’s POV
Weeks had passed since the whole drama of not wanting to return here, and today felt different. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. I could see the faint shadows under my eyes–proof of sleepless nights and endless thoughts, I stepped onto the scale, holding my breath as the numbers flickered before settling

“Ugh.” 1 muttered, stepping off. I had been trying to keep my mind off things, but it was hard when I felt like I was constantly being pulled in different directions.
With my eyes on my reflection once again. I couldn’t resist rubbing my belly as if connecting with the warrior in my womb.
“I still can’t believe you overcame the wolfsbane.” I said lightly to the li
little angel.
Just then, a soft knock interrupted my thoughts. The door creaked open, and a maid entered, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The colours were a charming mix of reds, pinks, and yellows that brightened the otherwise dull room.
“Happy birthday, ma’am!” she chirped, placing the bouquet on my dresser.
I smiled, my heart fluttering a bit. “Thank you!
As she left, I noticed a small note tucked into the flowers. I picked it up, my fingers trembling slightly as I unfolded it.
“Happy birthday, Gemini! it read, accompanied by a heart emoji.
The heart emoji made m
me pause. Asher? I looked at the name again, almost in disbelief. I had no idea that Asher knew my birthday, neither did I think he would send me a bouquet with a heart emoji note on it. I was still a little taken aback by the whole gesture.
My hand instinctively moved to my neck, brushing over the mark he had given me. It felt warm under my touch, a reminder of our connection. But then doubts crept in. Had I really been accepted by him? Or was this just because I was carrying his heir? But I haven’t even told him about the pregnancy YEL
I shook my head, trying to brush off toy delusional thoughts. I returned to my phone, expecting a call from my mom or even Gavin, but there was none. I had called Gavin at 12 am to wish him a happy birthday, but he didn’t pick up, neither did he reply to my messages. It kind of made me worried but I couldn’t help but think if he had become all too busy that he forgot his own birthday.
Nevertheless, there were plenty of birthday messages flooding my phone, but one stood out:
“Meet me at Bella’s Bistro at 7 PM. It read.

I quickly checked my other messages. My college friends, Estella, everyone had sent their wishes. But then the unease of not having received any calls or texts from my mom or my twin brother, Gavin stirred a bit of worry within me.
Frowning. I grabbed my phone and dialled Gavin’s number once again. And just like before, it rang and rang, but he didn’t pick up. My worry deepened. I tried to shake it off, but it gnawed at me.

“Come on, pick up.” I whispered, tapping my foot impatiently. But there was nothing–just silence on the other end.
Feeling a mix of frustration and concern, I hesitated for a moment before dialling Pierre’s number, I had blocked him monilis ago after everything that had happened, but I had to unblock him cause I was bothered and I needed answers.
“Hello!” His voice was cheerful, almost too cheerful, and it made my stomach t

“I know, Gen I could never mistake your voice for anything in this world” He interrupted, his voice tilled with a sense of longing that I couldn’t ignorr. His words left me a litt aut of place and I paused for a moment. “It’s been a while! How are you!” he continued.
“Tmrokay I just. I wanted to check on My mom and Gavin. They haven’t responded to my messages.”
“Oh, they’ve been really busy with pack stuff,”
