Chapter 86
Gemini’s POV
“What is happening to me?” I growled, frustration bubbling up inside me. I couldn’t seem to overcome the strange feeling that threatened to take control of my every being. It was as if a kind of electric movement was radiating all over me, making my skin tingle, I could literally see the goosebumps all over my body. I paced back and forth in my room, restlessness threatening to overwhelm me.
Just a few minutes ago, I was completely immersed in my latest project—a web design that had consumed over seventy per cent of my thoughts throughout the week. It wasn’t supposed to be so, but I made it so cause I couldn’t afford to think about any other thing. And by that, I meant the two seconds I spent looking into the depths of Pierre’s eyes, and what I saw in them. Also, King Asher and his sudden change of attitude towards me. The design was something I looked for comfort in at whatever point my thoughts started to drift into the awkward reality.
I was on the verge of completing the project, the pieces finally coming together, when suddenly this discomfort hit me like a freight train. It was a gnawing sensation deep within, a restlessness that dug at my insides, refusing to let go.
I could feel my mind racing, swirling with questions. What was this? Was it stress? Anxiety? Or something deeper that I couldn’t quite put my finger on? The fact that I knew nothing about this feeling made me even more restless. You know that moment when there’s a problem problem, but then the problem remains unidentified, making it hard to solve.
With a frustrated sigh, I threw my project notebook onto the bed, the pages fluttering like distressed birds. I needed to get out of this room, away from the chaos in my head. Maybe a stroll outside would help clear my mind. I grabbed my jacket, the fabric cool against my skin, and stepped out into the quiet hallway. It was around 12:53 AM when I last checked the time and so it explains why the house was eerily quiet. The only people awake now were the guards keeping watch.
“Where are you off to so late, ma’am?” One of them asked, standing in front of me as if stopping me from making any further
movements.
“I need to catch some fresh air, it’s suffocating in there,” I said, trying to move past him. But he wouldn’t bulge.
“I’m sorry ma’am, but you aren’t allowed to leave.”
His words arouse anger within me, the frustration of my restless nature tugging at my insides. “Will you move, or should I do it myself!” 1 growled in a low and dangerous voice, leaving the guards terrified. Even I was terrified, and I could swear that I had never heard myself sound like that before.
I almost felt like I was in Asher’s shoes for a moment…
The guard was visibly scared, but he still had a protocol to follow. “I’m sorry ma’am, but the King ordered not to-”
“Tag along if you care, but no one is stopping me!” I interjected, cutting him mid–sentence.
Of course, they decided to tag along, but they were not even part of my least worries. The air outside was free, a welcome contrast to the stifling atmosphere of my room. I took a deep breath, hoping to inhale some fresh air. But as I stepped into the yard, the discomfort still lingered, like a shadow that refused to leave my side.
The feeling graduated from a mere electrical jolt to a feeling of almost being torn apart. “Elsie,” I cried as I felt her tug heavily at my
skin.
“What the fuck is going on?” Pain surged through me like never before. “What are you doing to me?”
“Let me out!” Elsie demanded, clearly stuck in my head.
“But I don’t know how to!” I slammed back at the creature which seemed to have gone while inside my head.
“Hey, Gemini! You okay?” A familiar but unexpected voice called out, causing me to turn so forcefully that I almost got myself hair- whipped.
“Cain?” I called.
I had no idea he was in the pack, and so seeing him so late was something I didn’t expect.
“You look and feel so strange, what is the matter?” Cain asked, worry evident in his tone.

But the only thing I could say was “Cain!” I called once again.
At this point, I was literally radiating like the sun, the feeling of something otherworldly threatening to consume me.
Cain’s eyes widened as he took in my appearance. “Gemini?” he called back. “Speak up, what is the matter?” he asked, his voice laced with concern.
I tried to explain, but the words got caught in my throat, and I felt my body begin to tremble.
Cain rushed towards me, his hands reaching out to grab my arms. “Gemini, I’ve got you. Just hold on.”
But before he could touch me, a fierce growl echoed through the night air. Asher burst into the scene, his eyes blazing with fury.
“How dare you lay your hands on what’s mine!” Asher snarled.
He lunged at Cain, tackling him to the ground. The two of them clashed, fists flying as they rolled around in the dirt.
I watched in horror, my mind screaming for them to stop. This was the last thing I needed, considering my present state. “Asher! Cain! Stop! Please!” I cried, but they didn’t listen.
The fight continued, with neither of them giving an inch. I felt my anxiety spike, and my body began to respond in a way that was beyond my control.
A low, growl built up in my chest, and I felt my muscles begin to take a different posture. My body began to contort, my limbs lengthening as my senses heightened.
I was no longer standing upright, both my hands and feet on the floor. My hand transformed into paws, my usually fresh skin filled with sprouting furs. I let out a thundering growl, and my vision blurred as I transformed into my wolf form… For the first time ever.
