Chapter 15 Ruthless Just Like Me
Avani knew the exposure on reproductive ability last time had thoroughly offended Karina.
Since she had awakened her talent, she could finally turn the tables.
As such, she no longer kept up an act in front of Karina.
Suddenly singled out, Karina was speechless. Is she talking about me?
Karina halted in her tracks, recalling that in her past life, Avani had not awakened any particular talent. Could it be that because I’ve altered my original path in life after reincarnation, it led to some extraordinary encounter for Avani?
She turned around, looking at Zareth. “Could it be that she also awakened her talents through coupling with Xelrik and absorbing the beast crystal?”
“It’s impossible.” Zareth asserted, his brows knitted tightly together.
“Why not?” Karina asked curiously.
Zareth’s ears turned a shade of red as he quietly said, “That’s a secret technique of my clan. Other beasthumans can’t use it.”
“Her talent certainly didn’t awaken through conventional means,” Zareth added in a deep voice.
His bloodline was unique, and that was why Karina could awaken her talent, which was the same dual talent as his own. Essentially, it was his bloodline’s power that assisted Rina in her awakening.
Ordinary beasthumans simply couldn’t do something like that.
Karina hummed lightly, paying no mind to it.
She only picked up on the mention of a Level–Two beast from Avani’s words. Her eyes narrowed slightly, hinting at a spark of interest.
“A Level–Two wild beast of the fire–type, hmm? It’s perfect to enhance your fire abilities. Let’s give it a try,” she said, thinking it could also serve as an opportunity to test her own capabilities.
“All right.” A hint of indulgence flashed in Zareth’s eyes as he nodded in agreement.
Wild beasts of the same rank were stronger than the beasthuman warriors.
Zareth was of dual–talent, and Rina was not exactly helpless either, so he thought it was worth. giving it a shot.
“Did everyone hear that? Karina is also going to the forest to slay wild beasts.”
“Des tour open lenou whyst to do?”

“Don’t end up being eaten by a wild beast! Haha…”
The beastwomen next to Avani mocked Karina.

Although Karina possessed a Level–Six reproductive ability, she was rather spoiled and willful in the past. It led to her offending numerous beasthumans, particularly the women. As a result, they saw her as public enemy number one.
The beastwomen continued. “Ava has awakened her water–type talent. It was Xelrik himself who invited her. She can be of help, but what use would you be?”
“Seriously, don’t meddle in every affair. Do you really think your reproductive ability can compare to Ava’s water–type talent?”
Karina scoffed, not even sparing them an extra glance, and turned around to leave with Zareth.
Avani felt as if she was punching into a pile of cotton, her frustration causing her to clench her fists tightly. Karina! Even if I lack reproductive ability. I’ll still make sure to trample you!
“Karina!” As soon as Karina and Zareth left the tribe, they heard someone chasing after them. from behind.
Turning around, Karina saw Ariel, panting heavily from running.
She arched an eyebrow. “What’s up?”
“If you are hell–bent on seeking death in Phantom’s Hollow, I won’t stop you. However, remember, you’re all that Corvus has left. I heard you plan to bring him back, so make sure you’re not dead when he returns!” said Ariel in a sarcastic tone before she tossed something toward Karina and then turned to leave.
Karina raised her hand to catch it. It was a black stone blade wrapped in animal hide.
The material of the blade, however, felt even colder and sharper to the touch than stone.
The stone blade was only as long as one’s forearm. However, a few sharp barbs adorned the edge. crafted with such precision that they were hard to notice unless one looked closely.
If Karina were to swing the blade, even if she missed the vital points, she could still carve out a chunk of flesh with it!
Ariel’s father was the only beasthuman in Darkvale Tribe who could forge weapons. She had been learning from him since she was a child, which had shaped her fiery temper.
In Karina’s previous life, Ariel’s reproductive ability was not high, but the latter’s ability to forge weapons was held in high regard and earned her much respect.
After other tribes invited Ariel to forge weapons, Karina never heard anything about her again.
The stone blade was likely forged by Ariel herself.

Without even looking back, Ariel walked away

Meanwhile, the smile on Karina’s face deepened. I’ll remember this kindness and act of friendship, Ariel!
Securing the black blade at her waist. Karina, like Zareth, transformed into her beast form.
Her beast form was a petite. black–footed cat. Her reddish–brown fur appeared endearing and irresistibly soft, incredibly cute. It was a stark contrast to her stunningly beautiful human form.
Phantom’s Hollow, a haven for ferocious wild beasts, was situated a fair distance from Darkvale Tribe.
Karina had initially thought that having awakened her talent and absorbed a substantial amount of beast crystals, traveling would not pose a problem.
After running for a while, she quickly realized that her speed was nowhere near Zareth’s. The difference was just too vast!
The black–footed cat had an impressive burst of speed, but it really wasn’t cut out for long- distance running-
In contrast, Zareth’s beast form, the black serpent, moved quickly through the forest like a specter.
After a while, Karina decided to stand directly on the back of the black serpent
She thought it’d be better to save her strength to deal with the wild beasts later.
In Phantom’s Hollow, vegetation several times larger than what was outside blanketed the sky. An eerie and terrifying aura pervaded everywhere.
Just like the name of the forest suggested, the place was eerie, as though phantoms dwelled in every hollow corner, and it was devoid of any trace of light.
Walking through Phantom’s Hollow, Karina felt as if every passing plant she encountered was oddly shaped.
Behind the shrubs, stark white bones could be seen scattered everywhere.
Those were beasthumans who had lost their lives here while hunting wild beasts.
“Don’t touch anything here, including the flowers and plants. There’s a good chance they’re poisonous.” Karina was engrossed in observing a flower that resembled a cat when Zareth’s voice echoed a warning in her ears.
Karina immediately withdrew her hand.

Soon, blood seeped out from the gaps between the petals.
Karina couldn’t help but draw in a sharp breath. “This flower is truly ruthless.”
Zareth thought she was frightened, turning around to comfort her.

He glanced at the beastwoman, whose face was filled with admiration as she chuckled lightly. “Just like me.”
Zareth was speechless.
The serpent and the cat journeyed into the heart of Phantom’s Hollow.
At the edge of the forest, there were only some Level–One wild beasts. The Level–Two wild beasts, however, were further inside, posing a greater danger.
After searching for quite some time, the two encountered a pair of Level–One wild beasts. Under Zareth’s watchful eye, Karina was given a chance to practice her skills.
However, they still hadn’t found any trace of the pyronis spider.
At noon, the two of them roasted and ate a Level–One black boar beast they had just killed.
The flesh of the wild beast was considered a top–grade supplement. The stronger the beast, the more potent its meat. Consuming it could even enhance one’s strength.
The same could be said about the beasthuman warriors for the wild beast.
After having her fill of food and drink, Karina felt a bit regretful as she looked at the majority of the beast meat that remained uneaten.
Fresh blood would only attract more danger, and if it weren’t because she needed to search the pyronis spider, she would’ve brought the meat for her brother to eat.
In the afternoon, the two of them continued on their journey.
Though they didn’t find the pyronis spider, they did run into Avani and Xelrik, who were also on the hunt for the same creature.
Twenty beasthumans, among which two were ordinary beasthumans without awakened talents, represented the strongest fighting force Darkvale Tribe could muster.
“Xelrik, I’m out of energy. Quickly kill this young wolf and let me drink its blood.” Avani was delicately wiping off her sweat, appearing utterly exhausted.
Xelrik furrowed his brows. “Wolves always move in packs. We’ve just captured this one. It’s better to move further away before we bleed it out. We wouldn’t want to attract any wild beasts…”
“With you here, I’m not afraid of any beasts that come our way. Go ahead and kill it. I’m getting hungry,” Avani said coquettishly.

“All right, let’s kill it then,” he said. Since we’re on the hunt for the pyronis spider, this might just lure it
out.
Xelrik swiftly slit the young wolf’s throat, letting the blood drain before he skinned it.
As Karina and Zareth were passing by, they happened to witness the scene.
Upon seeing the young wolf, Karina frowned. To think these two fools dared to slay a wolf pup in Phantom’s Hollow. Don’t they know wolves always move in packs?
“Let’s go. Don’t bother with these two idiots.” Karina was about to leave.
Suddenly, the haunting howls of wolves echoed from all directions loudly!
