Karina glanced at the two of them, but she didn’t have the time to deal with them at the moment.
Turning her head, Karina gazed at Aethor’s hypocritical facade, letting out a scoff.
“Tell me, where’s Corvus?”
A flicker of guilt flashed in Aethor’s eyes. “Isn’t he supposed to be at the Briarhide Tribe?”
He feigned kindness, saying, “If you have something you want to tell Corvus, I can have the traders relay your message next time they go.”
Karina’s gaze turned icy, and without hesitation, she drew a black blade from her waist, pressing it Jagainst the chief’s neck.
Her gaze was icy, revealing a hint of ruthlessness.
“Still lying, are you? I’ll ask one more time where is my older brother now!”
–
Aethor felt a chill run down his spine as he met Karina’s gaze, a jolt of surprise shooting through him.
Could it be that she already knew about what happened to Corvus?
Seeing the number of beasthumans gathering around him increasing, he gritted his teeth.
Even if she knew, he couldn’t admit it!
“Karina, I honestly have no clue what you’re talking about. Corvus is right there in the Briarhide Tribe. This is common knowledge to everyone in the tribe,” he retorted stubbornly.
Karina’s parents had both passed away, leaving her with just one sibling, an intellectually challenged older brother. Thus, there was no way he knew how to return,
The only person on Karina’s side was Zareth, her beast husband. It was impossible for Zareth to leave the tribe to help her search for Corvus, as he needed to take care of her.
Karina had no one to rely on, nor did she have any close friends.
Without any evidence or proof, even if she knew the truth, no beasthuman would believe her.
With that thought, Aethor’s courage swelled once again!
“Heh, so you won’t speak, huh? Then I’ll peel your skin off layer by layer! Let’s see when you’ll start talking!”
Karina was no pushover.

A glint of crimson flashed across her dark brown eyes, hinting at madness. With a swift move, her black blade sliced a gash along the side of the chief’s face.
The blade sank into the flesh, ripping a wound in the skin.
She increased her force, causing fresh blood to seep out.
It was a horrifying sight!
“Ah!” Acthor hadn’t anticipated that Karina would actually cut him, and he cried out in pain.
He wanted to struggle, but after Karina leveled up, her strength had increased significantly. Even when he used all his might, he simply couldn’t break free.
Aethor was startled. How could she, a beastwoman, possibly possess strength greater than his
own?
*Stop!”
“Karina, how could you harm the chief?”
The beasthumans spectating the scene hurriedly reprimanded upon witnessing this, attempting
to intervene.
Even though beastwomen were highly valued, the chief was the one who managed the tribe. It wouldn’t do for his authority to be trampled upon by a beastwoman.
Before anyone could make a move, Zareth stepped forward, positioning himself in front of
everyone.
His face, icy and impassive, turned toward them, giving off an aura that suggested he wouldn’t hesitate to take action if anyone dared to approach.
Neither of the couple was someone to be trifled with!
Just when everyone was seething with anger, Draven leaped out, panting heavily from his run. Nonetheless, his voice was loud.
“Karina just wants to find Corvus. I personally went to the Briarhide Tribe yesterday, but Corvus wasn’t there at all. Poor Karina, Corvus is the only family she has left in this world. She always thought Corvus was in the Briarhide Tribe, but now with his whereabouts unknown, she panicked and came to seek clarification from the
take Corvus chief. Chief, stop lying to Karina. Hurry up and tell us
where exactly did you take Corvus!”
He had also realized that Aethor must have had something to do with Corvus‘ disappearance..
No wonder Karina had stormed off to find the chief without a moment’s hesitation.
Upon hearing this, the crowd’s anger instantly faded.

“Rina is simply worried about Corvus. Tell me, wouldn’t any of you be anxious if a loved one went missing?” Zareth retorted in a grave tone.
The crowd of beasthumans suddenly looked at Karina with a hint of pity in their eyes, noting how she was so anxious that her eyes were practically bloodshot.
“Chief, hurry up and tell her. Where exactly is Corvus?”
“That’s right. Weren’t you the one who introduced Corvus to the Briarhide Tribe in the first place? If you don’t explain things clearly, you can’t blame Karina for getting anxious and taking
action!”
“I… Aethor had a conflicted look on his face as he stammered and hesitated.
With a swift turn of his eyes, Draven cleverly caught sight of Haleira and Avani inside the wooden
cabin.
Suddenly, he exclaimed in a tone of surprise, “Hey, Avani, what brings you and your mom to the chief’s house? I had no idea that you two were so close to the chief, even visiting his home.”
Draven’s words, filled with profound implications, instantly caught the attention of the other beasthumans.
Beasthumans were inherently very territorial.
Under normal circumstances, they didn’t fancy having other beasthumans over as guests at their home, unless it was very close friends like Zareth and Draven.
Haleira, and Avani were beastwomen, yet they were both at the house of a single beastman, Aethor.
The nature of their relationship was self–evident.
Draven seemed to enjoy stirring the pot, even deliberately asking, “No wonder Avani knew about the beastwomen reproductive ability test results in advance! It was the chief who spilled the beans, wasn’t it? Wait, no, it wasn’t that she knew beforehand. Instead, Chief Aethor helped Avani switch her reproductive ability results with Karina!”
He stared wide–eyed at Aethor, as though he couldn’t believe the latter was that kind of person.
