Chapter 29 Setting Off
‘Guard our tribe well, and wait for me to bring Corvus back for a reunion!”
Lorcan wore a look of helplessness. “I really don’t know who you inherited this stubborn streak from.
As he spoke, he pulled out a white bone token from his chest pocket.
The bone token was intricately carved with the image of an animal that bore horns on its head, resembling both a horse and a deer.
“Rina, hold on to this bone token. If you ever encounter a problem that you can’t solve, head to the Beast City, Seek out the Zepharim Tribe and show them this token. They will assist you.”
“Beast City? The Zepharim Tribe?” Karina was somewhat puzzled and also surprised. “Mr. Lorcan, that’s one of the three great beast tribes of Beast City. I can’t believe you have dealings with the Zepharim Tribe.”
Lorcan vaguely stated, “We do have some dealings, but not often. However, if there’s trouble, they’ll still lend a hand.”
Seeing Lorcan’s unwillingness to say more, Karina refrained from asking further.
Perhaps Lorcan’s maternal family was somehow involved with the Zepharim Tribe, but she didn’t feel it was right to pry into other people’s secrets.
“Mr. Lorcan, I can’t accept such a precious item,” she said.
Karina pushed it back.
Unexpectedly, Lorcan thrust it into her hand. “Just take it.”
After all, this was originally supposed to be hers.
Seeing Lorcan’s persistence, Karina found it hard to refuse any further. She thought to herself that once she brought Corvus back, she would return the bone token to Lorcan. This way, Lorcan would be able to rest easy.
After Karina had tucked the bone token into her space, Lorcan gave her a few more instructions.
“It’s getting late. Are you guys coming or not?” Ariel urged impatiently, her arms crossed before
her chest.
“Mr. Lorcan, I assure you, I’ll bring Rina back safely.” Zareth stepped forward to guarantee.
Lorcan glanced at him. “It’s precisely because you’re encouraging Rina’s recklessness that I can’t
rest easy.”
Having said that he waved his hand signaling for the two to set off immediately.

“Mr. Lorcan, wait for us to return.” Karina also waved goodbye with a smile.
With that, they set off with the two beastmen as escorts.
Naturally, Zareth would not allow his mate to ride with other males.
And so, along the way, it was him who carried Karina. If Karina wasn’t tired, she would join him in her beast form, using the opportunity to build her stamina.
Ariel had not awakened her talent, hence she was alternately carried by the two tiger beastmen.
On the road, her gaze, filled with complexity, lingered on Karina.
Surprisingly, this spoiled and petulant beastwoman, who was known for her tantrums, didn’t complain or whine at all throughout the journey.
She even willingly transformed into her beast form and traveled on foot with them!.
“What’s up? Why are you looking at me like that?” Noticing Ariel’s gaze, Karina asked with a smile.
Ariel felt a pang of guilt, as if she had been caught spying.
She withdrew her gaze, retorting coldly, “Who was looking at you? You’re just flattering yourself!”
Karina’s smile remained on her face, but she refrained from asking any more questions.
Ariel snuck another glance from the corner of her eyes, her brows furrowing slightly. It seemed like Karina had truly changed….
The journey didn’t require them to pass through Phantom’s Hollow, nor did they encounter any wild beasts. The group didn’t pause for breaks, and in just half a day, they had reached the Ironfur Tribe.
At the entrance, two stone sculptures, bearing the likeness of bears, stood on either side.
The stone sculptures were massive, their features grotesque and intimidating, instilling fear in those who looked upon them.
There weren’t many people at the entrance, so the arrival of Karina and her party quickly drew the attention of the guards from the Ironfur Tribe.
A robust man, broad and burly, stepped forward to block the way. He questioned, “Who are you, where are you from, and what business do you have here?”
Only upon noticing the presence of two young beastwomen did his fierce expression relax somewhat.
Ariel stepped forward, her voice ringing out clearly as she explained, “We’re from the Darkvale Tribe, here to forge weapons for Young Chief Dyandra. If you don’t believe me, you can go ask Young Chief Dyandra himself.”

The guard cast a doubtful glance over them, clearly unconvinced. “You’re here to forge weapons. and yet there are two females? What can females do?”
“What’s wrong
with being a female?” Ariel asked, her face showing clear displeasure. “I’m the weaponmaker who will be forging weapons for Young Chief Dyandra.”
“You?” The guard furrowed his brows, about to question them further.
However, Ariel huffed in dissatisfaction, “What, don’t tell me that only males in your tribe have the right to forge weapons for the young chief? If that’s the case, then I’m leaving. If Young Chief Dyandra decides to hold someone accountable, I won’t take responsibility.”
Having said that, she turned around, intending to go back.
Seeing her so full of confidence, the guard also became somewhat anxious.
“No, you’ve got it all wrong. I just meant that I’ve never seen a female weaponmaker before,” the guard hurriedly explained while waving his hands.
If indeed the young chief had invited this female and he drove her away, he would face severe repercussions later. Even nine lives wouldn’t be enough for him to survive.
“What about them? Do you really need so many beasthumans to forge weapons?” the guard asked, glancing at the four individuals behind Ariel.
“These two escorted me here, while these two are my apprentices. The weapons needed by Young Chief Dyandra must be crafted with utmost care, and of course, one person is not enough for such a task.”
Ariel’s calm introduction didn’t reveal a single flaw.
The guard narrowed his eyes, pointing his finger at Karina,
“What about her? Is she really an apprentice? With her petite arms and legs, what could she possibly do?”
It was no wonder he had his doubts.
