Chapter 30 Meeting The Young Chief
From a young age, Ariel had been learning the art of weapon forging from her father, Maegor. She was hardworking and resilient, her skin a healthy shade of wheat from her labor. Her arms. and legs bore the evidence of her strength, muscular and robust. She was the picture of health.
In contrast, there was Karina, with her delicate, tender skin, fair complexion, and frail appearance. Just one glance was enough to tell that she wasn’t cut out for manual labor.
As he was speaking, a group of beasthumans on patrol arrived behind the guard, casting their gaze in Ariel’s direction.
Their fierce expressions seemed to hint that if she couldn’t respond correctly, she would be dragged away for interrogation.
Internally, Ariel felt somewhat nervous.
She hadn’t expected the beasthumans of the Ironfur Tribe to interrogate her in such thorough detail.
As she racked her brains, Karina took the initiative to speak. “Sir, the two of us are apprentices under Master Ariel and are in charge of tending the fires. The process of forging weapons requires fire, and we both have fire–type talents; that’s why we were chosen as apprentices.”
As soon as these words were spoken, the males around them all burst into laughter.
“Haha! You? You possess a fire–type talent?”
“When did the Darkvale Tribe start having beastwomen with awakened talents? Little female, you dare deceive us? Do you know the consequences of that?”
Ariel furrowed her brows, unable to stop herself from clenching her hands tightly.
Of all the lies to tell, Karina chose to joke about her talent.
Now Ariel was utterly at a loss!
She knew Zareth had a fire–type talent, but where did Karina’s talent come from?
Her relationship with her tribesmen was far from ideal, so she was naturally unaware of the incident where Karina had used her fire–type talent to slay the pyronis spider in the forest.
The guard approached Karina.
As he gazed upon her strikingly beautiful yet cold face, a hint of lust and desire surfaced in the depths of his eyes.
“Little female, I can let you in, but only if you’re willing to mate with me,” the guard uttered with
a lecherous chuckle.

As he spoke, he raised his hand, intending to touch Karina’s cheek.

Beside her, Zareth’s expression turned stony. A flash of ruthlessness flickered in his eyes as he readied himself to take action.
Whoosh!
In an instant, a streak of fire coiled around the guard’s hand like a snake.
The scent of something burnt wafted through the air.
The beasthumans present at the scene instantly changed their expressions.
Ariel was also staring blankly at Karina.
She clearly saw that the fire snake had emerged from Karina’s fingertips.
“Now do you believe me? Those two are my apprentices. If you still won’t let me in, then I’m going back.”
Regaining her composure, Ariel seized the opportunity and coolly addressed the guard.
The guard grimaced in pain. Having finally extinguished the fire, he glanced at Karina. To hist surprise, he inexplicably saw a chilling bloodthirsty glint in her eyes.
Yet, within the blink of an eye, the woman once again took on the guise of being harmless and innocent.
What the hell did I just see?
“Wait here for me. I’ll go notify the young chief.”
Without daring to obstruct any further, he quickly went in to report their arrival.
The patrolling beastmen also departed.
With a complicated look in her eyes, Ariel finally turned around. “You… When did you awaken your talent?”
Karina raised an eyebrow and responded sincerely, “Not too long ago. I forgot to tell you about it. Sorry.”
Ariel, however, could feel her lips twitching.
Not long ago? Is it possible for a talent that had just awakened to possess such power?
She had heard that Avani’s water–type talent could only produce a tiny amount of water, which had no destructive power at all.
Not a single word of truth ever comes out of this beast woman’s mouth!

There were too many people around, and to avoid drawing attention, Ariel refrained from asking further questions. She didn’t want to inadvertently expose any flaws.
Before long, the guard returned.
“The young chief invites you inside. However, these two escorts cannot enter. Once the weapons are forged, the young chief will naturally have other beasthumans escort you back.”
“All right.” Ariel looked toward the two tribe members.
The two of them nodded, watching as the trio entered the Ironfur Tribe. After this, they returned to report back to Lorcan.
The Ironfur Tribe was several times larger than the Darkvale Tribe.
Not only were the beasthumans larger in size, but their houses were incredibly tall as well. making the entire place seem like an enlarged version of the Darkvale Tribe.
A thick stone wall separated the Ironfur Tribe from the forest.
The beasthumans here weren’t fond of living in wooden houses, so most of the dwellings in the tribe were bear caves.
Before long, the three of them were led into one of the caves.
The bear caves were massive as the beasthumans of the Ironfur Tribe were generally more than two heads taller than Karina. Hence, to Karina, it felt incredibly spacious.
Once inside the cave, the guard halted.
The stone walls around were flickering with firelight, illuminating the dark cave.
Upon closer inspection, it was clear that the radiance was not from burning wood, but rather from a kind of red crystal.
“Young Chief, the weaponmaker has arrived.”
After the man finished speaking, he stepped aside. Only then did Karina realize that there were other people in the cave.
A voluptuous beastwoman was lying on a stone bench, flanked by two handsome beastmen. They were attentively dipping fruits into honey and feeding them to the beastwoman.
The combined stature of the two beastmen didn’t even match the robustness of the beastwoman’s waist.
Karina was somewhat taken aback.
The young chief of the Ironfur Tribe was actually a beastwoman?

Eyes, nearly hidden by plump checks, opened and gazed at the trio.
“Which one of you is the weaponmaker? Is it you?”
Her gaze fell upon Zareth’s face..
A satisfied smile instantly spread across her plump face.
Finished
In the next moment, her view of Zareth’s face was obscured by a strikingly beautiful feminine.
one.
