Chapter9
“Aha, your little lover is cute,” the sultry woman smiled.
“Irina, let’s talk”
“I swore that once I woke up, I’d make you pay for attacking me from behind,” Irina shot back.
The two exchanged meaningless banter, and honestly, I was about to fall asleep from the lack of substance in their words.
Alpha Jason yawned as I yawned.
“You’re really getting impatient with me?” Irina’s anger flared, her eyes flashing.
It seemed like Jason had discovered Irina’s

business dealings with rogue wolves- selling dangerous and lethal goods for profit. At some point, he had tried to eliminate her to protect himself but failed when some of her underlings intervened, blocking his attack and keeping her alive.
Now, she was awake, and her first order of business was to find him and settle the
score.

Suddenly, their conversation shifted, and Irina pointed a finger at me.
“I’ve been so good to you, and you choose to like someone like this? A big–chested, brainless fool?”
Ah, so the boss lady was a love–struck fool after all.
I couldn’t help but feel disgusted by Alpha

Jason’s flirting and playboy ways.
He must’ve sensed my disdain because he shot me a glance and said, “I don’t like her. She’s not important.”
Irina laughed darkly. “Then I’ll kill her, and you’d better not interfere.”
Without another word, the powerful woman pulled out a knife and pressed it against my throat.
For a moment, my mind went blank, but before I could react, Alpha Jason was in front of me.
The blade cut into him, and blood poured from his abdomen.
At the same moment, the mansion’s windows shattered as wolves from Alpha

Jason’s pack stormed in.
A fierce, electrifying battle broke out. The room filled with the sound of snarling and fighting.
I struggled to free myself from the ropes that bound me and crawled over to Alpha Jason’s bleeding form, pressing my hands desperately against his wound as I sobbed.
“Alpha Jason, didn’t you say you didn’t like her? Why would you block the knife?”
Irina growled like crazy, then was captured by Jason’s wolves.
Alpha Jason, in agony, chuckled despite his pain. His breath came out in labored gasps. “Kamelia… can you… lighten up a bit? I know you’re craving my abs, but can we… focus on not dying right now?” He coughed, wincing.

“I got it… I got it. Don’t talk, just stay still. When you wake up, I’ll find you a mate. You’re still young, you haven’t even had kids yet. I’m willing to sacrifice myself and let you have a real woman.”‘
His voice softened, his energy waning. “Alright…” he whispered, his eyelids heavy.
My heart ached.
But before I could respond, his eyes snapped open, his pupils dilated. He glared at me, his hand on his chest and then fainted again.
Jason was rescued, but he remained unconscious for days. I stayed by his side, taking care of him, my heart heavy with
worry.
One day, exhaustion overtook me, and I fell

asleep beside his bed.
In the haze of sleep, I felt someone pinch my face. I instinctively tried to swat it away, then realized who it was. My eyes shot open.
There he was–Alpha Jason, watching me with a smile that was neither here nor there.
The sunlight streamed in through the window, casting a golden glow on his features. He was still incredibly handsome, even in his weakened state.
I couldn’t help but think back to that moment when he kicked down my door, and everything inside me shifted.
“Kamelia, you really like my abs, huh? Drooling all over the place, he teased, wiping away some imaginary drool from my lips with a tissue.

I blushed. “Well, what’s with the rapid heartbeat then? What are you so excited about? Are you about to cry again?”
He smiled, though his eyes were still filled with pain. “I’m just afraid you’ll die. If you do, I’ll lose my monthly payment.”
“Tell me, if we kiss, do you think I’d get twice the pleasure?”
The sudden shift in the conversation caught me off guard. My face flushed bright red.
“I–I don’t know,” I stammered.
Jason smirked and reached for my hand, pulling it closer. “Wanna give it a try?”
I felt my heart race. “Why would I try that with you? You’re not my mate.”

His expression darkened playfully. “I stopped a knife for you, and I’m not even your mate? You’re a real piece of work.”
Before I could protest, he leaned closer and whispered, “Then come here. Let me experience the double pleasure of kissing you… for the pain.”
Flushed with embarrassment but unable to resist, I leaned in and kissed him, the world around us fading into the chaos of the moment.
The End.
