Chapter 8: No To His Love (2)
His eyes filled with fury again, but there was something else behind it now- desperation. “You think you can just walk away from me, Ayla? You think it’s over? I’ve already lost everything. Don’t make me lose you too.”
“Too late,” I said coldly. “You lost me the moment you chose her over me. You lost me the moment you thought you could play me like a fool.”
He stepped back, almost like he was recoiling from the weight of my words. Then, as if making one final attempt to pull me back into his mess, he threw one last
insult. “Fine. Go. But know this-without
me, you‘ re nothing. You’ll be nothing. You’ll always be alone, and you’ll regret this for the rest of your life.”
I didn’t even flinch. I didn’t care. Not
anymore.

“Do you really think I’ll regret leaving you?” I shook my head slowly, then slammed the door in his face. “Go find your next victim, Lukas. I’m not it.”
But even as I turned to walk away, I heard him pounding on the door, his shouts growing more frantic with every passing second. I didn’t care. I wasn‘ t afraid of him anymore. I’d built a life without him, and I was never going back.
The next day, the flowers started. Every damn day, there they were, outside my apartment–roses. Perfect, blood–red roses. He never stopped. He kept showing up, like clockwork, holding them out to me as if they were some kind of magic ticket to fix everything.
“Ayla,” he’d say, voice trembling, “You once said roses were your favorite. I‘ 11 bring you one every day. I’ll make it right,
I swear.”
It was pathetic. Every time I saw him, I felt more disgusted, more repelled by the weak

man he had become.
But that day, something shifted. When he showed up, I grabbed one of the roses and threw it at his feet. “Here’s your damn. rose, Lukas. It means nothing. You‘ re nothing. Your promises mean nothing.”
He bent down to pick it up, but I slammed the door in his face before he could say another word. I didn‘ t want his flowers. I
didn’t want his lies. I didn’t want him.
The next time I saw him, he looked like a ghost. His skin had paled, his eyes sunken. But he wasn’t the only one suffering. Celeste had fallen apart, and the pack had turned on her like vultures, feasting on her pain. News of her suicide attempts had spread like wildfire, and Lukas had tried to control the damage, but the damage was
done.
And in all of that chaos, Lukas finally
realized he had lost me. And there was no coming back from that. Not for him, not for Celeste, and certainly not for the

broken man he had become.
The next day, the roses stopped. But Lukas. kept showing up, trying to fix something that was already beyond repair. Every time. he looked at me, I saw the man he truly was a man who had lost everything, and now, he was begging for the one thing he would never have again: me. But he wasn’t satisfied, he wanted to drag me down with him, I sensed it.
I was ready to let hell loose just like Selene. would want.
