Book 4 In The Tsunami, He
Chose His First Love
I pushed open the door to Rolf’s office, and in that instant, my entire world collapsed.
Rolf was pressing Faye against the desk, kissing her. Her clothes were disheveled, her pale skin exposed in large patches to the air.
What made it even more ironic was the family portrait from last year hanging on the wall. Faye stood beside my brother, cradling her two–year–old son in her arms.
“Clary!” Rolf shoved Faye away, but she calmly brushed her tangled hair aside.
“Perfect timing” Faye said with a smirk. “Now we don’t have to hide it anymore.” She wiped her mouth with Rolf’s tie.

I grabbed a glass vase from the desk and hurled it at her. “You shameless bitch!
There’s still a picture of your husband and child on the wall, and you’re here, with my fiancé!”
Rolf raised his hand to shield the vase, the back of his hand instantly drawing blood. Yet, his first instinct was to check if Faye was hurt.
“Do you know why I married your brother?” Faye sneered. “Five years ago, Rolf pushed me away to get closer to you, so he could get into this school.”
“But this time, that won’t be the case, will it, Rolfie?” She provocatively stared at me while tenderly bandaging Rolf’s wound.
I scoffed. “So, you’re living off my brother’s

money, raising my brother’s son, and here you are, seducing my fiancé?”
“Is a man like this really worth it? You’re willing to abandon your own three–year–old child for him?”
“Slap!” Faye lunged and slapped me across the face. “You think your brother’s some kind of saint? You must know about the things he’s done with female grad students in his lab, don’t you?”
I froze. So this was why she and Rolf had reunited.
“But…” She suddenly flashed a cruel smile. “Do you know what’s the funniest thing of all?”
“My son’s real father was never your brother”

“Three winters ago, Rolf and I were at the hot spring hotel…”
“Shut up!” Rolf angrily interrupted her.
The moment those words left her mouth, a wave of nausea washed over me. Three winters ago, I was studying abroad.
And at that very moment, the man I loved, my fiancé, and the sister–in–law I trusted most…
“Clary, I’m sorry…” Rolf tried to explain.
I pulled out my phone and dialed my brother’s number.
But Faye snatched the phone from my hand and threw it to the ground. “If you tell your brother, I’ll post the video of him with the female grad students on the school

website!”
Everything went black in front of me as I lunged at her, choking her by the neck. “You bitch! How dare you film my brother!”
Rolf shoved me away. “Clary, are you crazy? Do you want to end up in prison?”
I collapsed to the ground, watching as Rolf tenderly pulled Faye into his arms.
In that moment, all the questions I had were finally answered.
Why, recently, Rolf had always found excuses to cancel wedding rehearsals.
Why he suddenly arranged a trip for everyone, but made sure I stayed behind.
Why, at the lab, the paper I had painstakingly
