Book 3 All My Misfortunes Were Caused by My Alpha
“Doctor Cheryl, the lady in this bed doesn’t seem to be well; she’s been crying the whole time.”
The nurse’s voice reached my ears as I had been awake for ten minutes, yet I was reluctant to open my eyes.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down my cheeks, like a flood breaching its banks.
Thinking it was a sudden physical reaction from me, the nurse hurriedly called Cheryl.
Through my blurred vision, I saw Cheryl holding my medical records, making sarcastic notes.

“There’s nothing wrong; she just had a miscarriage, and the stitches have split open,” she said dismissively.
Then she leaned in and pressed hard on my abdomen.
I instinctively cried out in pain, opening my eyes to glare at her with a mix of resentment and anger.
Cheryl merely chuckled with disdain.
“This hurts? When Beta Lewis and I found you in the Rogue camp, you were lying on the ground, covered in thick, filthy liquid, looking as if you were enjoying it. Beta Lewis nearly vomited.”
“Oh, and there were two Rogues eagerly grinding against you, their long claws leaving trails of blood on your skin. The more you

cried out, the more excited they became. I suspect that feeling is still fresh in your memory, huh?”
“So, compared to that, this little pain is nothing. If anyone should complain, it’s me. You have no idea how disgusting it is to examine a filthy woman like you.”
Her words pierced me like a thousand arrows, leaving me gasping for breath.
Before I could defend myself, I caught the nurse’s glance filled with disdain.
“So she’s the notorious woman of the Pack, abandoning her partner right before the wedding to run off with a bunch of lowly Rogues. How shameless!”
“No, that’s not the truth! I’m a victim too!”

I couldn’t help but shout, desperate to clarify.
But Cheryl, as the authoritative doctor of the Pack and the childhood sweetheart of the Alpha, spoke with an air of legality that commanded respect.
The nurse shot me a sidelong glance, sneering.
“Yelling, are we? You did something so disgraceful, and now you’re upset about being called out? I bet the child in your womb is a bastard child from one of those Rogues!”
Cheryl looked at me, smirking, “Isn’t it a bastard? And now it’s gone, which is for the best.“–
I trembled with anger, barely hesitating before I swung my fist at her, grabbing a

coffee cup from the bedside table.
But as soon as I moved, Cheryl, with her superior physicality, deftly dodged my attack. In one swift motion, she kicked the cup from my hand and leaped onto me, pinning me firmly to the bed.
The nurse stared, wide–eyed, then rushed out for help.
With no one around, Cheryl became even bolder.
“Do you know why I dared to perform the abortion on you? Because it was approved by Brother Howar.”
“Impossible!”
I widened my eyes in disbelief, staring at her.

She chuckled lightly.
“Why impossible? Surely you didn’t think the future heir of the Pack would emerge from your dirty womb, did you?”
With that, she raised an eyebrow, reveling in her triumph.
“I know Brother Howar promised you that he would take you as a mate when the time was right. Honestly, I sometimes admire your naivety; there aren’t many women as foolish as you left.”
Her words sent shivers down my spine. “What are you trying to say?”
Cheryl smiled knowingly and suddenly grabbed my face.
“If you want to be the Luna of this Pack, at

least be realistic. Even Brother Lewis looks down on you; what chance do you think you have with Brother Howar, the Alpha?
“Do you think just because you’re pregnant you can be his mate? Dream on!
“Let me tell you, from the moment you were confirmed pregnant, Brother Howar suspected that the child wasn’t his. He won’t allow his life to be stained by you and that bastard!”
I shook my head uncontrollably, staring at her. “No, the child is only two months old; it’s his! I have the hospital report!”
“Oh, that thing? Honestly, that document holds less weight than my word.”
Cheryl narrowed her eyes, looking at me with utmost ridicule.

“I’ll tell Brother Howar that you’ve been pregnant for three months, and three months ago, he was negotiating with other Tribes. The timing just doesn’t add up; for his reputation and that of the Pack, you’ll have to be sacrificed.
“Oh, and by the way, I had your uterus removed, so you won’t bear any children in the future.”
Her words ignited a fire within me, leaving me with a singular thought: to kill her, to kill her!
“Ah!”
I screamed in rage, shoving her away and swinging my fists like a madwoman.
But before I could reach her, Alpha Howar

burst through the door, agile and decisive, intercepting me and delivering a sharp slap across my face.
“Zelda, how dare you harm Cheryl? Have you lost your mind?”
The force of his slap sent me sprawling to the floor, dazed and disoriented.
Alpha Howar didn’t even look at me; he simply held Cheryl close, whispering soothing words.
“It’s okay, don’t be afraid.”
Cheryl nestled against him, her eyes filled with triumph and defiance as she looked at

“Brother Howar, I was just informing her about her condition after the procedure; I

didn’t expect her to suddenly lash out…”
At her words, Alpha Howar turned his piercing gaze on me.
“Zelda, this is outrageous. Apologize to Cheryl this instant!”
I could no longer hold my tongue. “Why should I apologize? She performed the abortion without my consent; that’s attempted murder! I can take her to the werewolf court! And do you realize…”
Before I could finish, Alpha Howar interrupted me with a cold voice.
“Absolutely absurd. The abortion was my decision; you’re carrying a bastard child and have no right to demand anything!”
His words struck me like lightning, and for

a moment, I couldn’t believe the person standing before me was Alpha Howar.
He shouldn’t be like this; he had always cared for me so deeply.
He knew about my painful past, a wound that lingered in my heart, but he had never turned away from me.
In the late hours of the night, when I collapsed into tears over those memories, he would hold me tight, endlessly reassuring
me:
“Zelda, don’t be afraid, it’s all in the past. Those Rogues will never hurt you again; I will protect you for life. When we become mates, you will be the most esteemed Luna of the Pack, and no one will dare to bully you again.”

Because of his kindness and thoughtfulness, I had never doubted his feelings for me.
But at this moment, the harshness of his words made me feel as though I no longer recognized him.
“He’s not a bastard; he’s truly your child!”
