Alpha Manfred’s eyes widened in shock at my request.
He never expected me to be so resolute.
But I hadn’t said it to hear his answer.
The world was big, and I wasn’t some omega she–wolf with no backing or bite. I was born into the Eclipse Pack, trained by my lunatic warlord of a brother, and raised by a Luna who once killed a rogue with her stiletto. Avoiding my ex? Please. That was the easiest part of being me.
I turned and walked away without looking back.
The sun was warm, the breeze gentle–a

perfect day for a journey.
Alpha Manfred had always assumed that t after the divorce, I would return to the Eclipse Pack, waiting passively for him to come retrieve me.
What he didn’t know was… well, my family wasn’t exactly into forgiveness. Especially not my brother, Damon, whose idea of “justice” usually involved explosives and long–distance snipers.
I didn’t interfere in his plans. Family business, you know?
As I reached the pack’s private airstrip–yes, my brother insists on flying me around like I’m pack royalty–my phone buzzed.
“Damon?”

“It’s done. Lawyers will tie up the loose ends. You’re officially un–mated and unloaded.”
I smiled. “Do as you see fit. He’s nothing to me now.”
“Good. I’ve already deleted his scent from the family archives.”
“I’m about to board. I’ll message my new number when I land.”
“Understood. Oh–and if Manfred reaches out, tell him you left him something in the villa’s safe.”
“Copy that. Goodbye, Damon.”
I ended the call, slinging my bag over my shoulder. A–new life waited. One without deception, broken bonds, or early–morning Luna duties.

After arriving in the Shadow Crown Pack, though my brother had arranged everything for my daily life, I still faced challenges.
Especially in the academic arena. I’d been out of the game too long. But the werewolf training?
Now that was my territory.
Here, no one cared about your past–only your work ethic, your wolf’s strength, and your ability to hold your own in a sparring ring without crying.
It was the perfect place to forget everything… or at least pretend.
Then Damon sent me several links.

“Rising Model’s Flat Belly Sparks Miscarriage Rumors”
“Fake Pregnancy? Jessica’s Luna Dreams Go Up in Smoke”
I didn’t click. I knew where this was going. So I called.
“Well? Shocking enough for you?” Damon’s voice was positively smug. I could hear him smirking from three territories away.
“Didn’t read them. Just spill.”
“She was never pregnant,” he said, sounding way too satisfied. “Jessica faked it. Five months and no bump? Either she’s carrying a pup made of mist or she’s been lying.”
“Alpha Manfred must’ve had doubts.”

“Oh, he definitely did. He was either going to make her actually get pregnant-”
“Gross.”
-or let her fake a miscarriage. I just sped things up. Switched the hospital. When she went in for her ‘tragedy, guess who was waiting with a full medical team and no pity?”
I grinned. “I swear, you were born with a grudge instead of a heart.”
“She deserves it. And him? He deserves her. For now.””
Growing up, I’d followed Damon everywhere -right into trouble, right into battle.

Forgiving Alphaa Manfred after learning aboutu Jessica? My seccond.
No wonder he’dressented him all these years.
Normally, a man wouldd curry favor with his wife’s elder brother BBtAipha Manfred had stubbornly refused, andd their mutual dislike festered.
What Alpha Manfred neverkkeewwas that Damon had once pulled stringssto help him rise through the Silver Claw?Pack. Not because he liked him. But beecause he thought giving me a strong mate would protect me.
“So you leaked the fake pregnancystadlthe media?”

“Too boring. Truth is more fun when discovered firsthand.” A dark chuckle. “I just… switched the hospital when she went for her ‘miscarriage. Alpha Manfred would obviously accompany her for something that big.”
“Judging by the news, the Silver Claw Pack house worked overtime.”
“Don’t worry, Emily. He can protect her now because he’s still Silver Claw Pack alpha. But that won’t last forever.”
I knew my brother would handle everything. But this was my battle.
“Did Alpha Manfred contact you?”
“Called for your number. I didn’t give it.” His

voice turned icy. “Does he think you’re a recycling bin? Taking back his trash?”
“You’re not actually pitying him, are you?”
“No.” My grip tightened on the phone. “I just want the fire between him and Jessica to burn hotter.”
“Some things should be remembered–by the right people. Why should I suffer alone?”
“Next time he calls, tell him about the safe. And don’t bother with Jessica anymore. After Alpha Manfred sees what’s inside, he’ll hate her more than we ever could.”
A pause. Then, softly:
“Focus on pulling him down from that Alpha seat instead.”
