Chapter 11
“Shut the hell up!” Lucas’s roar cut through the chaos, silencing Amy’s words.
Amy flinched, stepping back, but her anger flared again, even hotter than before.
“Lucas, don’t let that woman fool you! Emily’s just trying to ruin our reputation!”
“She can’t even give you a child, and I’m supposed to just stand by and watch Alpha’s bloodline die with you? Do you think she’s innocent? She’s nothing but a snake who only cares about what’s between a man’s legs!”
Lucas glared at his mother, watching the twisted hatred on her face. Something inside him shifted violently.

His voice dropped low, dangerous. “You knew.”
Amy hesitated.
Lucas’s breath hitched. “You knew about me and Sophia, didn’t you? You’ve known all along.”
Her eyes flickered, and the silence spoke louder than anything she could have said. Lucas staggered back as if the air had been sucked from his lungs.
“It was you, Mom…” he whispered. “You’re the reason Emily agreed to that ridiculous arrangement. You made her do it.”
Amy straightened, unapologetic.
“What was I supposed to do? She loves you

“Love? You wanna talk about love? This is how you wormed your way into my life, playing the victim, manipulating me at every turn. You’ve been trying to tear apart my relationship with my mate–my Luna, Emily.”
Sophia’s voice trembled with rage. “I manipulated you? I’seduced‘ you?”
Sophia let out a sharp, hysterical laugh that echoed through the room like a warning siren.
“Lucas, stop playing the victim!” she screamed. “Who was it that secretly took naked pictures of me? Who touched me at your brother’s funeral? Who said Emily wasn’t even worth a single strand of my hair?”
Her words cut through the air like broken glass, stabbing at Lucas’s soul. His knees

buckled, and with a thud, he collapsed to the floor, as if the weight of everything had finally shattered him.
The reporters went wild. Flashbulbs exploded like fireworks, capturing his fall from glory to disgrace. Each click of the shutter was more piercing than the last.
Amy felt the disaster unfolding and rushed to his side, grabbing his arm.
“Lucas! This isn’t the time to break down! You’ve gotta get Sophia out of here–wait for this all to blow over…”
Lucas shoved her hand away, his voice hoarse, thick with exhaustion and fury.
“Mom, when will you stop lying to yourself?” He turned toward the cameras, his eyes filling with tears, his gaze almost devoid of

light.
“Emily… I’m sorry. I know this is too late, but I need you to hear me–I never wanted to sever the bond between us.”
Before he could say anything else, Sophia lunged at him, losing control. “You can’t do this to me!” she screamed.
Without hesitation, he shoved her away. She stumbled and fell to the ground, her hair disheveled, makeup smeared–instantly transforming from the polished new Luna to a tragic joke.
Lucas didn’t even glance at her. His eyes were locked on the camera lenses, as if they were the only thing that mattered.
“Emily, I was wrong. I was horribly wrong. But I will find you, wherever you are. I won’t

give up on us.”
He pushed through the press of reporters, ignoring their shouts, the flashing lights, and the chaos. He was no longer hiding. For the one true love of his life, he was ready to chase after her.
Amy’s voice cut through the chaos behind me. “Lucas! Where the hell are you going?”
Without even glancing back, his voice was low but firm. “I’m going to find the only person I truly love.”
On the other side of the continent, in a quiet little village within the Southern Pack Alliance, I sat there, clutching a glass of red wine, watching the video of Lucas. In the footage, he was on his knees in front of the camera, confessing everything.

His face was streaked with tears, his voice broken, and the whole world watched as he came crashing down from his pedestal, losing everything in a single night.
I’d imagined this moment a thousand times. Yet now, as it all came crashing down–his lies with Sophia exposed, their facade torn apart–there was this strange, indescribable feeling settling in my chest.
I stood in the yard, the surrounding stillness a sharp contrast to the collapse of the man standing in front of me.
“Emily…” he whispered, like my name was both a prayer and a curse.
I turned to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist, then quickly let go, as if even the touch of my skin burned him. Without warning, he dropped to his knees on the snow–covered
