“Excuse me, everyone. I have some matters
to attend to.” Without waiting for a response, I turned to leave, only to see someone standing frozen at the door.
Alpha Georgie.
His hair was disheveled, and his suit was wrinkled. It was clear he had come straight from his meeting.
It had been a while since we last met, and he looked noticeably thinner.
It seemed the past three years hadn’t been kind to him.
He let go of the door handle and gently reached out to touch my cheek. His movements were soft, almost hesitant.
“Sabrina, I’ve missed you so much.”

I brushed his hand away, my tone cold but polite.
“Long time no see, Alpha Georgie.”
The light in his eyes flickered and died instantly. His voice trembled slightly.
“Why are you speaking to me like this? Are you still upset with me…?”
I shook my head, my tone growing impatient.
“Upset with you about what? Stealing my research to give to Luna Daisy?”
At the mention of her name, a flicker of panic crossed his face.
“I was wrong to do that, but I only did it to help you!”

“Daisy told me you’d been drinking before surgery. She said if I didn’t hand over the report, she’d report you. I was just-”
I let out a knowing laugh. So that was the truth.
“Help me? Did I do something wrong that required your help?”
“You should’ve let her report me back then. That way, I wouldn’t have been ruined by an idiot like you.”
“You don’t need to apologize. I won’t accept it. Late justice is meaningless, Alpha Georgie. I don’t dwell on the past. Three years–whether love or resentment–it’s all
over.”
His eyes filled with confusion, unable to

comprehend my words.
I had no desire to explain. I turned and headed for the door, but he grabbed my wrist tightly.
The old injury on my wrist flared up with a dull ache.
“I can’t let it go!” Alpha Georgie suddenly raised his voice, startling everyone nearby.
Perhaps realizing his outburst, he softened his tone.
“I can’t let it go, Sabrina. Let’s start over, okay?”
He pulled out a ring from his pocket, larger and more dazzling than the last one.
“You didn’t like the one I gave you before. I

got a bigger one this time. Will you-”
“No.” I said flatly.
His eyes filled with sorrow, but before he could speak, his family and friends couldn’t hold back.
“Georgie, why are you humiliating yourself like this? If she rejects you, it’s her loss!”
“Yeah, brother, why does it have to be her? She’s not even some rich heiress.”
“Enough!” Alpha Georgie snapped, glaring at them before glancing cautiously at me.
Seeing that I didn’t react, he let out a sigh of relief.
“I didn’t ask you here to cause trouble. Sabrina is my fated mate. I will only marry

her in this lifetime!”
The group fell silent. Old Alpha Kenelm stormed out in a huff.
Alpha Georgie didn’t seem to care. He turned back to me, his tone pleading.
“If you don’t like it, we can go pick a ring together.”
“You’re overthinking it. My hand can’t wear it anymore.””
“Alpha Georgie, I’m married.”
At my words, Alpha Georgie staggered, and the ring fell from his hand, clinking against the ground.
“Married? How is that possible? It’s only been three years. How could you-”
7/10
“Stop joking. Marriage is not something to joke about.”
“You’re lying, aren’t you? You’re saying this to upset me, right? Right? Tell me I’m right.”
His desperate and sorrowful expression was unfamiliar to me.
I had never seen him look at anyone like that before.
The Georgie I knew was like an untouchable God, always looking down on others. Humility was not in his nature.
“Sabrina, I agreed to your proposal. Why did you break your promise…”
At the word “promise,” I laughed, shaking my head.

In Alpha Georgie’s eyes, I was always the one in the wrong–past and present alike.
“Alpha Georgie, I broke my promise? Weren’t you the one who treated our marriage like a joke and marry someone else?”
His body stiffened. He reached out to grab my arm, speaking rapidly.
“I divorced her not long after you left.”
“Nothing happened between us. Please believe me-”
I shook off his hand, my patience completely gone.
“Enough. I don’t care. My husband has been waiting for me long enough. I have to go.”
9/10
“As for you, I’m traditional. I won’t marry a divorced man.””
With that, I slammed the door behind me.
But he chased after me, grabbing my wrist.
“Alpha Georgie, haven’t you had enough?”
Maybe my voice was too cold. He flinched as if burned and muttered a quiet apology.
I ignored him and continued walking. Behind me, I heard his uneven footsteps.
I sighed. If he wanted to follow, so be it.
