Chapter 6
The last entry in the journal was from six months ago.
“Today, I visited my brother’s grave. Sophia said she had known about the photos for a long time–she’d been holding back her feelings for me for years. My wolf couldn’t control it… It spiraled out of control. We… we just did it, right there, in front of my brother’s tombstone.”
The journal slipped from my hands, hitting the carpet with a dull thud.
A chill swept through me, pressing down on my chest. My stomach churned violently. I gripped the wall, struggling to stay upright.
It hit me. From the very beginning, I was

never the star of this perfect love story. I was just a cover–a tidy, legal façade hiding their obsession.
I was their shield of shame.
Suddenly, a faint noise broke the silence, almost imperceptible, coming from deep inside the wardrobe. I turned, my pulse hammering in my ears, and noticed something I hadn’t before: a small gap in the back panel.
It was a hidden door.
I pushed it open. A narrow, dusty passage stretched out before me, leading to the house next door–my brother’s old place.
The walls were covered in photos of Lucas and Sophia. Some were candid shots, others posed portraits, and a few were so explicit, I

had to look away.
My hands shook as I raised my phone.
Click, click, click.
Every photo. Every shred of evidence- captured.
Just as I turned to leave, I heard footsteps approaching from the hallway.
Sophia’s voice, sweet but sickly, with a touch of laughter: “Lucas, are you sure Emily, that idiot, won’t find out?”
Then Lucas‘ voice, impatient: “Relax. That bitch is probably crying in our room right now.””
I froze. No time to think. No time to breathe. I dashed into the passage, closing the hidden

Their moans, their breathy whispers–like venom, slipping into my ears, coiling around the last remnants of my dignity.
I didn’t move. Not until it was over. Not until they were asleep, wrapped around each other.
Then, I quietly slipped through the hidden passage and fled. I returned to my room, trembling, trying to compose myself.
When the door gently closed behind me, I didn’t cry. I opened my laptop, collecting every photo and recording. Then, I called the Pack Council.
We drafted a new Mate bond dissolution agreement. This time, I wasn’t walking away empty–handed.

looks from everyone around me. Then I went upstairs, grabbed my last bag, and walked out of that house.
As soon as I got into the car, my phone rang.
It was the old Luna.
“Emily, darling, I know you’re heartbroken, but staying with Lucas will only make things worse. Stay home, stay out of sight, and don’t cause any trouble. Isn’t that better?”
Her feigned concern, the self–righteous martyr act… She didn’t care about me. She just wanted her precious alpha son to have his honeymoon uninterrupted.
I answered calmly, my voice steady. “You don’t need to worry. Lucas and I have already severed our mate bond. I’m not his mate anymore, and I’m no longer the pack’s Luna.

l’im jjust me now, and I won’t intererfere with his plans.”
Before she could even respond, hunangrup and blocked her number.
Not long after, just as I was pulling intothehe airport parking lot, my phone buzzed agagain.
It was a message from Lucas.
[“I’ll be back after Sophia’s pregnant. AsAs long as your behave, I’ll still give you a pup.p. Through IVF, off course.”]
I stared at the screen and smiled.
It wasn’t the smile he would recognize. This is smile wasn’t bitter, mor was it broken.
It was the start of something he’d never get et to see.

His message was meant to sound magnanimous, even a little “pitying.” But all it did was make me laugh. A bitter laugh, without a trace of humor.
Without a second thought, I blocked him.
Then, I opened my photo gallery, selected every single intimate photo of Lucas and Sophia–the ones that could destroy them in an instant–and sent the whole batch to the pack’s council and the Judgement Hall. They wouldn’t hesitate.
