Book 2 I Died On The Day His Mistress‘ Child Was Born
The day I received my cancer diagnosis.
I saw Colin carefully supporting a heavily pregnant woman as they entered the obstetrics department.
An hour earlier, I had called him, telling him I felt unwell and asking him to accompany me to the hospital.
He claimed he was tied up in a meeting, yet here he was, tenderly helping another woman to her seat, then hurrying to register her.
I had known Colin for five years and had been married to him for three. I’d stood by him from his struggling days, building his

business from the ground up until it went public.
When he proposed, he cried, swearing that he would love me faithfully for the rest of his life.
For the past three years, he had kept his word, coming home every night no matter how late, remembering every anniversary and filling my life with surprises.
I never thought he’d fall for someone else, not until I saw this with my own eyes.
The woman noticed me. I wasn’t sure if she recognized me, but she clung to Colin’s arm, gently caressing her belly and cooed softly.
“Honey, the baby just kicked me.”
Colin reached out to feel the baby’s

movements, his face radiating genuine happiness.
My stomach churned, a wave of nausea rising within me. I called him.
The first time, he didn’t pick up. He simply glanced at the screen, silenced the call, and let it ring until it disconnected. I called again.
The second time, he exchanged a few words with the woman, then walked over to answer my call near the restroom.
“Hannah, I’m in a meeting. Is something wrong?”
Colin’s voice was as gentle and warm as ever. If I hadn’t seen him with that woman myself, I might have truly believed he was in a meeting.

Thinking back to every night he’d claimed he had a meeting… had he been with her each time?
I swallowed my tears and spoke as calmly as I could. “Honey, the cherry blossoms in Japan are blooming. I’d love to see them.”
“Hannah, I just took on a new project. It’ll take about a month. How about I accompany you after I finish it?”
Colin’s tone held no impatience. He was soothing me, as though I were the most precious thing in his life.
I didn’t cry or make a scene. Maybe it was the nearness of death, but I felt an eerie calm. “Honey, today at the hospital, I saw someone who looked a lot like you.”
Colin looked around and finally spotted

- me. He furrowed his brow, seemingly quite dissatisfied with my call,’Are you deliberately testing me?”
Even when his lie was exposed, his expression remained unchanged. He glanced back at the woman.
“You know my parents want a grandchild. The baby is due in a month, and after that, I’ll come back to you.”
Before we got married, he knew I couldn’t have children. Back then, he’d looked at me so tenderly and said, “Hannah, I love you, not a child. As long as you’ll marry me, that’s all I need.”
I was incredibly moved by him.

agree, he’d marry a woman at random.
I thought our love was real, but it turned out he’d already been secretly seeing someone.
My eyes burned as the woman walked over.
Up close, I could see she bore a slight resemblance to me–only younger, more charming, her voice sweet as she looped her arm around Colin’s. “Honey, it’s our turn.”
I grabbed his arm. “Colin, I’m dying. I’m in the final stage of cancer.”
Colin gave me a deep look, obviously not believing me, and brushed aside my hand, saying, “We’ll talk about it later”
And with that, he left me standing there as he escorted her into the exam room.

But, Colin, there will be no later for us.
If he’d bothered to ask the doctor, he would have learned I only had a month left.
