Jessica, nearing her due date, had been admitted to the hospital.
She wasn’t happy with how Colin spent all his time taking care of me. While Colin went to find the doctor, she slipped into my hospital room.
I was awakened by a cold breeze. Jessica had opened the window in my room.
The moonlight spilled across her face, half of it shrouded in shadow, and she glared at me with an intensity that could have pierced through the darkness.
“I’m about to give birth, why are you still monopolizing Colin?”

Her eyes were full of anger and resentment. I smiled because I saw her hand reaching toward me. If I hadn’t woken up, she probably would have tried to strangle me

“You’re having his child, and he still doesn’t come to see you?”
Jessica shook with rage, barely able to hold herself up. “You’re lying! Colin loves me! He

I coughed a few times, gathering enough strength to speak.
“You’re just a tool to have his child. If he really wanted to be with you, why won’t he sign the divorce papers? I’ve already given him the agreement.”

“Shut up! You’re lying! Colin loves me!” Jessica, blinded by jealousy, lunged at me
and ripped off my oxygen maged at me
The overwhelming sensation of suffocation hit me instantly. I didn’t struggle; I just stared at her, smiling.
Her eyes were red, her fists clenched as she watched me slowly suffocate to death. Her face, twisted by hatred, seemed like she truly wanted me gone.
What she didn’t know was that I had been holding on for so long, just waiting for her to kill me.

Jessica couldn’t understand me. By the time she snapped out of it and panicked, trying to put the oxygen mask back on me, I had already stopped breathing.
I saw my soul detach from my body, floating without touching the ground, and finally, I was free from pain.
Jessica, horrified, collapsed to the ground. Water flowed from between her legs, and she groaned in pain, clutching her stomach.
The door to the room opened.
Colin entered, holding a water bottle, with his anxious mother who had come to find Jessica.

flatlining heart monitor, the removed oxygen mask, and Jessica’s groans filled the air with an eerie atmosphere.
Colin’s eyes reddened, panic overtaking him as he rushed toward me.
His mother grabbed him firmly, urgently shouting, “Jessica’s going into labor! Go get the doctor!”
“Colin, help me! It hurts so much!”
Jessica cried out in pain, but Colin didn’t look at her once. He shook off his mother’s grasp, his face dark with regret and anguish.
“Mom, you have ruined my life. Are you happy now?”
That night, the doctor declared my death after an unsuccessful attempt to resuscitate

Meanwhile, I lay in the cold morgue, and only after I was gone did I see the love in Colin’s eyes. He collapsed beside me, crying uncontrollably, refusing to let my hand slip away no matter what.
“Hannah, I was wrong. Please, open your eyes and look at me,”
“I beg you.”
I didn’t know why I still lingered in this world. Maybe God wanted me to witness the fate of this jerk.
