“Liya, why are you crying?”
Gavin entered the room and wrapped his arm around Aaliyah.
“It’s nothing, Rebecca didn’t scold me, I just wanted to bring flowers, but it seems like she doesn’t like them,” Aaliyah sobbed into Gavin’s chest, playing the role of the wronged one.
“Would anyone bring broken chrysanthemums to visit a patient?”

Aaliyah’s eyes were full of tears as she looked up at Gavin for sympathy.
I sneered.

“Rebecca, apologize to Liya!” Gavin scolded, his expression stern.
“Liya is so kind, she even brought me here to visit you. This is her heartfelt gesture, and you’re turning your nose up at it?”

had saved them for a month but hadn’t even taken them home. There was definitely something fishy going on.
But when I saw Gavin’s amnesia, it seemed like his intelligence had taken a hit. I decided to stay quiet for now.
First, I didn’t want to alert them, and second, I doubted that Gavin would believe me in his current state.
But seeing Gavin defend this angelic bitch, I couldn’t contain my frustration any longer.
“Please leave, I don’t need your visit. With all this crying, if I didn’t know better, I’d think she was mourning her mother.”
Gavin stormed up to me. “So now we’re wrong for trying to visit you? Apologize!”

I walked up to Aaliyah. “Sorry, I didn’t know your mother had passed away. I must have looked like her to you. If I had known, I would have been more understanding.”
I walked out of the hospital room and downstairs to get some air.
Although yelling at that angelic bitch gave me some relief, Gavin’s attitude still left me feeling angry and wronged.
