Chapter 3
Monica’s expression turned frantic upon hearing my words.
Alpha Chandler’s eyes widened in surprise, letting go of any pretense of politeness towards me as he tightly embraced Monica.
My father’s face darkened even further.
When Monica glanced at me, there was a spark of defiance in her eyes, but when she looked at my father, her gaze shifted to one of pleading resolve.
She opened her mouth, wanting to speak.
My father interrupted coldly:
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re

plotting.”
“Reaching a friendly agreement with the Lancelot pack is solely to foster better cooperation. Cersei has been groomed for the position of the next Alpha since childhood.”
“Don’t even think about stealing what belongs to Cersei.”
His words landed on Monica like a
bombshell
Since childhood, she had always tried to snatch away my possessions, affection, and
even men.
But there are some things that I earned through my own efforts, which she could never hope to take from me.”

Monica shot me an incredulous look.
I savored the sight of the tears and resentment staining her face.
Alpha Chandler anxiously wiped away Monica’s tears, casting a look of disgust my
way.
I wasn’t particularly bothered by their blatant display of affection in front of me; I slowly patted my father’s hand, hoping to calm him down.
“Get them out of here!”
Father instructed the butler to escort them
away.
Monica, realizing her embarrassment, quickly stood up, while Alpha Chandler
restrained his anger. The two were

reluctantly led to the door by the butler.
My father turned to me, his earlier sternness replaced by a gentle tone:
“It’s all my fault. If Alpha Harvey hadn’t left you, I wouldn’t have considered the alliance.”
Hearing my father mention that name, I momentarily lost my focus.
Then I slowly broke into a smile, looking at the little old man, Alpha Daryl, who was so dedicated to our pack.
He had given everything for the pack.
Seeing my smile, my father shook his head with a sense of resignation.
I turned to catch Alpha Chandler’s gaze as he was walking away, and we locked eyes.

I knew he heard me, and I didn’t miss the pallor of his face.
Some things were finally ready to be unearthed.
I comforted my father and planned to return to the Pack headquarters to handle some work.
Just as I was about to get into my car, an unexpected figure blocked my path.
It was Alpha Chandler.
He suddenly shoved me against the wall of the underground parking garage.
My head spun for a moment.
Furious, he closed the distance between us,

wrapping his arms tightly around me.
I was about to scream, but he brutally silenced me with a kiss.
His slick tongue pried into my mouth, making my stomach churn with nausea.
[Candice!]
In an instant, I transformed into a silver–gray wolf, powerfully kicking Alpha Chandler away, who was completely unprepared.
I returned to my human form, wiping my lips.
“What do you mean by this?!”
Alpha Chandler glared at me, his eyes filled with resentment.
“Just as you see, I detest every touch from

you! Oh! It’s no different from eating a bug- disgusting!”
In a fit of rage, he grabbed my shirt with one hand and flung a pile of photographs at my face.
The sharp edges of the photos cut into my skin, drawing blood.
I had intended to scold Alpha Chandler.
But through the bloodstains, I caught sight of a face that haunted my dreams night after night.
I hadn’t seen him in so long that his features had begun to blur in my memory.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I crouched down to pick up the photos one by one.

Like precious treasures, I carefully wiped each photo clean and tucked them close to my heart.
“Oh! Those are my pictures; you can’t pick them up!”
Alpha Chandler probably intended to humiliate me by throwing the photos at my face.
Seeing me so desperate, disregarding my pride and my status as the next Alpha, kneeling on the cold garage floor to gather these pictures, he lost control:
“Cersei! Did you hear me? I said don’t pick them up!”
He angrily tugged at my arm, trying to stop
- me.

I forcefully shook him off.
Perhaps my fierce determination was too evident in my eyes, or maybe my frantic care for each photo was too much.
Alpha Chandler gradually loosened his grip, staring at me in bewilderment.
He clenched his fists, anger brewing within him.
I pulled out a tissue, gently cleaning the photos before carefully placing them back in my bag.
Alpha Chandler seized my hand.
I looked coldly at him and said, “Alpha Chandler, just as you see, you will never measure up to your uncle.”
