Chapter 6
Alpha Dwayne’s entire body tensed, his wolf snarling inside him, demanding blood. His crimson eyes burned with a murderous glare as he stared at the two traitors before him.
Byron jumped in fright. Just as he was about to curse, he caught sight of the Alpha’s expression–pure, unbridled rage. Instantly, he scrambled off the bed, falling to his knees and trembling uncontrollably. “A–Alpha, you misheard! Jessica is the one who saved you! I–I was just joking with her earlier, that’s all!”
Hearing such a feeble excuse, His wolf howled in fury, and for a moment, he saw red. The suffocating scent of fear rolled off Byron in waves, but it did nothing to quell the rage clawing at his chest.

“Bone–crushing spikes! How dare you!”
With one swift, brutal kick, Byron flew into the wall, the force of the impact cracking the plaster. Before he could even groan, Dwayne was on him, his boot pressing down on Byron’s knee, grinding it until the sickening sound of bone shattering filled the room.
Byron’s screams echoed through the halls, but Dwayne didn’t care. His grip locked around the traitor’s throat, claws extending slightly as he squeezed. His voice was deadly. “Tell me now–who really saved me all those years ago?”
Jessica panicked and quickly cut in, “Dwayne, it’s Byron! He’s having an affair with Adele! I just caught them, and now he’s threatening me. You have to kill him-”

a crescent–shaped scar on her shoulder. She was bedridden for two months in the hospital. Jessica found out and deliberately tattooed an identical mark to impersonate her.”
Dwayne’s claws dug deeper into Byron’s flesh, but the traitor kept going, desperation spilling from his lips. “Alpha, I was blinded by lust and deceived by this woman. She even insulted Luna Adele in the alley, calling her a whore and her child a bastard. Alpha, I know I’ve sinned, but please spare me!”
Alpha Dwayne’s ears caught onto the word bastard. A storm brewed in his mind as the realization hit him like a sledgehammer. Jessica would never call her own child that.
A terrible thought clawed its way into his mind. His hands trembled violently as he croaked, “The pup Adele is carrying… it’s not

Jessica’s embryo?”
Byron frantically shook his head, grasping at his last chance. “Alpha, Luna Adele is carrying your pup! Jessica changed the plan at the last minute. She wanted the pup to die in the womb, so she could accuse Luna Adele of killing it out of spite over the test tube truth. She planned to cry and provoke you into killing Luna Adele in rage. It was all her idea, Alpha, not mine! Please spare me!”
Jessica, hearing Byron’s betrayal, dropped all pretense. With a snarl, she lunged at him, her claws swiping toward his face.
Though Byron’s leg was broken, he was still strong. Grabbing Jessica by the hair, he slammed her to the ground.
The two began brawling viciously, hurling insults and spilling every sordid secret from

the past few years. Each sought to pin all the blame on the other, desperate to save themselves.
The more Alpha Dwayne listened, the more his heart shattered. The sharp pain of betrayal pierced his chest, forcing a strangled sob from his throat.
Three years. Adele had been the one he truly loved all along. She had been carrying his living, breathing pups.
A soul–crushing despair overtook him as he roared, his wolf taking over.
A blur of motion. A flash of silver.
Byron slumped lifelessly, the light fading from his eyes. Blood pooled beneath him, staining the cold floor.

His subordinates burst through the door, only to freeze in terror at the sight before them.
Alpha Dwayne stood drenched in blood, his gaze feral and crazed. He pointed to Byron’s corpse. “Take him out. Chop him into pieces and feed him to the dogs.”
On the bed, Alpha Dwayne’s phone vibrated.
Jessica, who hadn’t yet fainted from her injuries, screamed and lunged for it.
He quickly grabbed the phone, thinking it was a message from me. But as he opened it, the smile on his face froze.
The video showed me being lifted high into the air and thrown into a crocodile pit.

“No…” A guttural cry of anguish tore from his throat. As he exited the video, he noticed a ransom message from his archrival, Rogue King Elliot, along with Jessica’s reply.
Dwayne didn’t waste time on anger. Panic–stricken, he dialed a number with trembling hands. This was a man whose expression hadn’t faltered even in the bloodiest battles for the rogue alpha position, yet now his entire body shook, and his face was deathly pale.
The moment the call connected, he begged, “Twenty billion–no, thirty billion! I’ll give you everything! Just save my Luna, now!”
A short, mocking laugh came from the other end of the line.

Without hesitation, Dwayne ordered a transfer of thirty billion.
One of his men tried to intervene. “Alpha, that’s all our liquid assets! Elliot is cunning -your Luna might not even be in his hands. This could be a trick. We should investigate first-”
“Get out!”
Dwayne roared, and without another word, he sent the money.
Less than a minute later, Elliot replied with a brief message: “Sorry, Alpha Dwayne. You’re the one who said to feed her to the fish. You were too slow to change your mind- her bones are already picked clean. All we found was a shoe. For thirty billion, I’ve had it nicely packed and sent back to you.”

Dwayne collapsed to the ground, utterly numb.
The blood–stained shoe arrived shortly after, along with two other items: the divorce agreement I had left behind and an injury report from eight years ago.
Holding them in his arms, Dwayne’s face twisted in despair. He alternated between laughing and crying, madness overtaking him.
